Detroit-based producer, singer, and percussionist Alton Miller has been playing a fundamental role in defining House Music for over three decades. Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit on Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parliament Funkadelic and the Philly Sound. Alton’s early roots in soul music led to an affinity for clubbing and the perfect storm of music, dance, and skill that is required to create it. Alton opened the legendary club The Music Institute, in 1988, along with his like-minded friends Chez Damier and George Baker. He has released music on some of the best independent labels in the industry such as Detroit renowned Planet E and Mahogani Music and Europeans Defected and Neroli Records. Prolific producer, Alton Miller continues to further his musical endeavours with releases on labels, including his own InnerMuse Recordings and Music Institute Records. Since 2019, Miller has been cultivating his connection with South Africa’s thriving house music scene. That same year, he created the Alton Miller Foundation to help youth to develop life skills and frequently is asked to speak at workshops and symposiums about his experiences and contributions to Electronic music and House music.

Alton has two forthcoming EPs on Mister Bear Records in Spring & Summer 2024 and we’re excited to showcase both to the House music world.

To celebrate we've got her in for a guest mix too!

"I started mixing, and went in a completely different direction to what I thought I'd do. Amazingly there are no edits, this is genuinely a ‘press record, start playing and see where you end up’ mix.

And yep, I turned my vibe around ;)" -https://soundcloud.com/djphilippa

'With this mix, I wanted to combine tracks that have drawn me in over the past few months, a few older mainstays in my collection and a couple of my own that seemed to fit the mood. To begin, I wanted to create a feeling of the anticipation that I associate with early summer, and then decided to go a bit more bass driven and euphoric as things progressed! I had loads of fun putting this together and I hope that you like it!

London based Producer and DJ Memphis Glass is inspired by exploring interesting spaces between house, techno and bass music. Since his debut ‘Orange Circles’ EP on SITU Records in 2021, he has been steadily building a reputation for his deep sound that balances sweet melancholic melodies with driving drums and enveloping basslines. Remixes for both DJ Panthr and Greg May and his 2nd EP ‘Mechanics’ released on Finland based imprint Mood Of The Era have seen him establish a signature sound that makes his productions stand out as distinctly his own.

I had an EP ‘Mechanics’ out on Mood Of The Era at the end of last year followed by a track called ‘Look Ahead’ in March on a new label called Rooms Inc. I have another EP out later this year plus a single on a VA and a couple of remixes.

Love, Memphis Glass'

"Hey, we're Max and Harri from Manakinz. We've been making music together since 2018 and are excited to have been asked to do a mix for the SlothBoogie crew. It's mainly just a bunch of fairly new music that we are both digging, plus some tracks from our upcoming WHIM! EP, out on our own label, Model Citizenz on May 18th. Hope you like." - https://soundcloud.com/manakinz

"I’m Massiande, a producer usually known for Deep House music. I’ll be releasing a new EP under a new alias called Emotive Technology that’s going to be focused on Techno-oriented music. It’s coming out on Jimpster’s new label Cyphon. With this record being Techno-oriented, I thought it would be a good excuse to try my DJ skills on Techno. So this is a set of emotive, Deep Techno showing what the Emotive Technology concept is about. I hope you enjoy it." - https://soundcloud.com/massiande
