This week is Unbroken, directed by Angelina Jolie! A film about an Olympic runner who is imprisoned in a Japanese POW camp, who survives on a stranded raft, beaten up, pestered by sharks and machine gun fire, with religious symbolism and a lot of sandwiched themes.

After a near-fatal plane crash in WWII, Olympian Louis Zamperini spends a harrowing 47 days in a raft with two fellow crewmen before he's caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.

This week we watched another film by J. A. Bayona, The Impossible. Starring Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, and Tom Holland. This film tells the story of a family's struggle to survive and find each other after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami in Thailand.

Typical of a Bayona film, this film is beautifully shot and well acted. Listen to the podcast episode to hear more of our opinions!
