How much should a small business website cost?
This is the question that we get asked the most on our website chat at redboxweb.co.uk. Without more information, it's a bit like asking 'how much does a house costs'.
There are a lot of factors that go into creating a website and these all affect the final cost of the website. You've then got different payment models, such as the traditional pay a one-off fee and then a hosting or maintenance cost. Or, the pay monthly approach which is become ever more popular.
In this episode of Small Business Magic, I chat with Clare Taggart about the cost of websites. Clare works in business development at Red Box and spends most of her time talking to customers about their requirements and then quoting for a website solution to meet those requirements.
Welcome to the Small Business Magic Podcast. Starting, running and growing a small business is really hard work. It can be tough, lonely and thankless. But, it can also be immensely rewarding, exciting and even magical! And that is what the Small Business Magic Podcast is all about. What can you do in your business right now, to bring more of those magical moments as you grow your business.
We'll be covering topics that are essential to small business success such as marketing, sales, systems and processes, outsourcing, hiring, leadership, motivation and loads of more topics, presented in each episode by an expert in one of these fields.
In the first episode, I will be talking about the difference between SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and PPC (Pay Per Click) - AKA Google Ads.
The main difference between SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and PPC (Pay Per Click) is that SEO allows you to appear in the search engine results for free, whereas PPC is where you pay to appear in them. As the name suggests, with PPC you pay each time someone clicks on your advert.
With most searches in Google, the first four websites listed will be PPC Ads and have the word ‘Ad’ next to them, and the next 10 will be the free organic results.
For the long version of the answer listen to this episode of the Small Business Magic Podcast.
