Grace Liu is a woman of many talents; an actress, a dancer, an artist in many fields and most importantly, a survivor. Her love for art and her interests brought her to Australia. She found strength in Christ and found freedom in the culturally-open country, Australia. She escaped her traumatic experience of sexual abuse in China and started a new life in Australia as an artist. But now, she found her voice. She is here to share her journey and inspire people who had gone through something similar, that they are not alone. That there is something that can be done no matter how difficult it is.

"My identity was so tightly wound with my career that when my daughter was born, I had to redefine my identity as a mother. That was the biggest challenge for me as a mother. I was living a life of shoulds. Overcoming that and getting clear on who I was a person and what type of life I want to create for my family. Secondly, I wanted to create a solid base for my daughter because I felt like if she felt like she has a solid base, she would have self-love and acceptance."

Fear and change can be overwhelming, but that is just part of life. In today's episode, Milien Botha, an English teacher, who moved from South Africa to another country (which she will tell you more later on) in her 30s, is here to share with you about her personal journey. 

Sometimes, it's easier to keep ourselves contained in a box. With all the things that we heard and believed to be true about ourselves, we continue to be our own enemies. If you want to take that leap into a life you want, go for it. As Milien and many other expats know, then transition isn't always smooth but focusing on your path and letting go of your fear of failure will help you get to where you want to be.
