Small Town World episodes

  • Christian Nationalism

We have heard this term quite often over this last year. Critics claim that any connection between a Christian and their political views is "Christian Nationalism".  However, this is simply not the case.  The attitudes that the label implies are not part of a biblical worldview.  We reject this label and explain why we all can reject this fringe, extremist label.

  • Jude-A Letter To The Church

Looking at Jude and at the urgency to be alert & aware of what is going on around us, to be earnest in study, and know the word so we can recognize false teachers.  Jude said this is what they will look like and you need to lean on God's word for truth.

  • Masculine Men

This week we look at male & female roles and the decline of testosterone levels in men. It's an interesting discussion about things you have probably already observed culturally.  Some portions of this topic may be sensitive to little ears! Just a heads up for the moms of the audience.

  • Voting Rights

We know this episode may seem a bit political but the end game is to make us aware so we can pray and push back. I love what John Cooper's sticky note on his bathroom mirror says "Wake up. War is upon you." He said he knows the battle is a spiritual one and he knows that we are victorious in Christ Jesus but we must still do our part as we walk the earth.  If you listen to the podcast regularly, you know that we ascribe to his line of thinking! Stick with us as we muddle through these 2 voting rights acts.

  • Language Barrier

A while back we did an episode titled "Speaking So We Can Be Heard" and I want to encourage you to go back & listen to this episode in conjunction with "Language Barrier." This week we talk about terminology that Christians use within a church setting or when speaking with other believers. Sometimes these terms are intimidating or confusing to outsiders or new believers. We discuss some of these words and phrases and where they are found in scripture. Do some terms need to be put to bed? Do some words and phrases hinder our witness? We discuss this topic and discuss being sensitive to others regarding our choice of words.

  • The Supreme Court

How impactful is The Supreme Court on our daily life? Very very much so!! What cases are upcoming, what has happened in this last year, and is this important? Absolutely! We are certainly not educated in political science and we are not attempting to be political commentators, but we are trying to shine a small spotlight on what is taking place in this arena.  With a conservative majority now strongly in place, we talk about all the positive things they have been able to accomplish.

  • For Such A Time As This

This episode has a secondary title of "Bloom Where You Are Planted"! This is one of my all-time favorite quotes. I say it all the time. We believe that we live where we live and when we live by God's great design.  This was an interesting discussion touching on Esther, Saint Francis De Sales, and even Kayleigh McEnany!

  • Advent

Merry Christmas!! The beauty of the season of Advent and the time of celebration of our Saviour's birth is the focus of today's discussion. We wish you a Merry Christmas and wishing you a beautiful time with family to reflect on our Lord!

  • Worthy of The Name

If you have ever been to a lady's night at any church, you can relate to this discussion. You walk away feeling refreshed in your commitment to Christ. You walk away feeling like you truly worshiped. That was definitely the case when Kayla and her good friend Betsy held a lady's night recently at their church. This week I asked Kayla if we could go over what she shared that night.  You probably have an idea from the title of the episode, but it's definitely not what you anticipate!

  • Advocacy

Our world has become a place where boundaries are daily pushed to the limits. Where good is vilified and wrong is promoted & celebrated. What recourse do we have? As Christians, should we speak up and speak out? These are the things we discuss this week. With a little research we found some places to report to, groups to join, and newsworthy folks follow on social media outlets. Hope this information helps us stand up to the goliath we face!
