This episode is really Social justice vs. Biblical justice. We discuss what they both mean and we compare & contrast the two. We look at the misconceptions of social justice and why the term is actually duping Christians today. Listen for the definition Kayla found regarding Biblical justice. It's good stuff!!
We continue our discussion of CRT and why it is in opposition with the Bible. Many things are hot button topics right now, so so many things seek to divide. The point of this episode is to hopefully expose this issue for what it is and what the ultimate goal is. This is one issue that all Christians should unite around as oppositional to Christianity.
The struggle is real and it's so hard. We cover what is happening in Afghanistan. We talk about what scripture tells us in Romans about government authority. Being in a place of willing submission to this government that we know is corrupt is truly hard. So we have an honest, open conversation about where our hearts are and how we can react to the chaos that is happening around us.
This is a topic that we were hesitant to discuss but we kept coming back to this subject. It's timely right now as school begins across America. We reference Voddie Baucham's book Fault Lines. This book is not for the faint of heart. He does not mince words, he does not attempt to spare feelings but at the same time does not attack, and he does not sugarcoat. (I love him) His love for the Lord is crystal clear and his motives are pure and genuine. Promote & protect the gospel and share truth to God's children.
You have heard the phrase "well everything is relative". I've said it a hundred times to fit the context of what I was speaking about without every really realizing how contradictory that statement is to the Bible. But I'm learning and God's word is not relative to anyone's truth, it is absolute. So Kayla leads us down the path of why this "moral relativism" is not sound doctrine and at its core just another lie from the enemy.
Being able to effectively communicate, being an active listener, maybe even being able to learn something from another point of view is really necessary to plant seeds for Christ. Something I am learning and trying to put in to practice! Reading the book Tactics by Gregory Koukl has been an invaluable resource in helping us learn to speak in a way that can plant seeds. He gave us some Biblical insight into being a constant gardener. This book is an easy and quick read but really holds so much wisdom.
Why is feminism, as it exist in today's culture, a problem? Clearly, the ideology behind the term feminism has shifted and changed over the years. We are left with many different facets of feminism in the time that we are living in and the most disturbing to me is the attempt to make gender homogeneous. We discuss this and other aspects of feminism. Kayla gives us God's biblical design of male & female roles.
What is the fruit of the Holy Spirit? What is good fruit and bad fruit? Are we rightly representing Christ as His church? Erwin Lutzer has written a book titled "We Will Not Be Silenced" and in the book he made a statement "The days of causal commitment to the gospel and the Christian faith must come to an end." We talk about what current culture calls "fruit" and what the Bible actually says about the fruit of the Spirit.
We finish up talking about prayer using the Tabernacle as a metaphor for going deeper with God and taking steps to get close to Him. Remembering what the Tabernacle was, how it was constructed and what the items inside symbolized. This study was so refreshing, so interesting and enjoyable. Ultimately, what I learned from this is that we want to go deeper with God for intercession for others and for our nation. 1 Timothy 2: 1-4
What the world needs now is prayer. That's easy to recognize and often hard to accomplish. We discuss prayer, deeper prayer and simple prayer. What it means to draw near and plug in, even when we can't feel Him.
