What is happening in our "world" today is a tactical plan. Use of rumors, spreading out right lies, distorting information, controlling the media, television and movies are all methods used throughout history. The goal is to use propaganda to achieve an agenda. The agenda being pushed right now is socialism and cultural marxism. This is not new! It's old, it's been done before and it's a TACTIC OF THE ENEMY. Why does it matter? Because it's seeping into to God's church.
This is a good one! Part 2's are always my favorites. We found so many wonderful sources that confirmed the resurrection. This is the beauty that further helps us affirm the truth of God's Word. We all have doubts but truth is available for the honest heart-felt seeker! Learn to doubt (question) your doubts.
This is such a fascinating topic! We are learning so much! Why can we place our trust in the Bible as the true and divine Word of God? As a believer, we have to give the Bible it's true authority as the whole and complete word of God, without error. We discuss apologetics, cosmological reasoning (new to me), and other teachings from several studied sources much smarter than us. "Being able to give a defense of the faith" is a necessary part of the toolbelt. (Correction: I said Andrew Kostenberger and his correct name is Andreas Kostenberger. I'm a little off my game this week.)
Listen closely and get ready to ask questions! Everything old is new again and that goes for the English language as well. Many of our old words have new meanings according to popular culture. The most grievous of these being the name Christian. Hijacking all the "good and noble" terms for the work of the enemy is well underway. Our hope is to shed light on what is happening so others can listen and gain some clarity about this evolution.
Culture and worldview has shifted so by logical conclusion, our kids need to be prepared for the world they will face when they leave home. We hope to offer some resources that can help combat the lies that our Christian kids will face out in the world. "We must train them to use their critical thinking skills during every lecture, every movie, every song, and yes, even every sermon."
We discuss keeping the church alive to fulfil the call! The decline in church attendance over the last couple of generations is disheartening and we look at what these numbers look like. But there is a beautiful hope. Kayla talks with us about being the bride of Christ and who the church IS. We look to Sardis and Jesus who said "Wake up and strengthen what remains".
We continue on discussing what it looks like when we change our mindset and change our motives for serving Christ. Kayla discusses the privilege and responsibility of being an image bearer of God. Stick with us to the end of this one! And side note Carl Jung is pronounced Carl (Yuung).
My title but Kayla's course material on leadership, servanthood, and love. Stepping up to the plate to do the real work is scary and we don't feel qualified and by we, I mean "I", but reading this material is inspiring. I hope we adequately conveyed that we are all called to be a "leader" in the kingdom work and that it takes work, study and being intentional. It's a daily job and I'm seeing just how much time it takes to be real with Jesus and for Jesus. It's an all-consuming effort. Join us!!!
"Thou hast formed us for Thyself and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee." St. Augustine. This subject is weighted and we know that we are not worthy, but instead we highlight messages and quotes from wise men who spoke and wrote about the subject. We offer some future reading material for the listener to help with this pursuit.
We refresh our talk about the god of self and then expand about who we are in Christ. Self must die daily. We share scripture today, tell a few personal stories, and talk about Paul's joy in the midst of struggle. Kayla points us to the book of Ephesians to learn and accept who we are in Christ.
