Smarty's Scenario

Movies like "A Thin Line Between Love & Hate," "Above the Rim," "Boomerang," "Waiting to Exhale," "Rush Hour," and others produced some of the most memorable songs from the 90s.

The 90s brought with it a laundry list of songs from the 70s and 80s that were remade popular by artists. Donnell Jones, Lauryn Hill, Troop and others showed other just how it was done.

The 90s married R&B and hip hop to create a match made in Heaven. Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige, The Tonies with DJ Quick and Keith Sweat featuring the dearly departed Lefteye get the party started.

Throwback to when singing groups were still a thing - Jodeci, TLC, Shai, Xscape, DC3 and Zhane provide the soundtrack.

This episode is powered by femcees. Bahamadia, The Lady of Rage, Lin Que and Smooth all bring this mix to life.

A wonderful mix of my favorite songs performed and written by Babyface. Johnny Gill, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston and Damien Dame breathe life into these songs.

This is a very special edition of the Scenario featuring holiday hits by Mariah Carey, Tevin Campbell, Anita Baker, A Few Good Men, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige and the Quad City DJs.

The 90s brought us a plethora of remakes from the 70s and 80s. Here are some of my faves from H-Town, Mary J., TLC, Worl-a-Girl and Jodeci.

The poster child for Jive Records was one Robert Kelly. Because I have my own convictions, he is not a part of this mix - directly. We do hear from Aaliyah, D-Nice, The Souls of Mischief, Fu-Schnickens and Tupac.

Island/Def Jam was responsible for so many bangers from Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, Case, Montell Jordan, Dru Hill and Kelly Price.
