 Since we started the podcast, we’ve already reviewed four different brands of whiskey. Our taste buds are more refined. Our noses are sharper. But our taste has remained the same. 

In our latest review, we’re checking out one of Reggie’s favorites – the Oban 14. 

Unlike the other whiskeys we tried so far, the Oban falls on the fancy side. The distillery was built way back in 1794, by the brothers John and Hugh Stevenson out of – where else – Scotland. 

The Oban Distillery actually has a famous visitor center. It has actually won awards. 

We tried the 14-year-old, 86 proof, full-body single malt. If you know anything about the StickMen brand, you know that we love good presentations. The Oban 14 bottle has a beautiful, classic look to it, so it’s a great addition to any home or public bar.

If you’re looking for an affordable whiskey with a long-standing history and full flavor profile, then you’re in luck! We are comparing Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12. Both are twelve-year-old single malt scotch whiskey with a strong fan base. 

Glenfiddich is known for its distinct fresh pear taste and creaminess. It incorporates some subtle oak flavors and ends with a mellow finish.

On the other hand, Glenlivet is the best-selling scotch whiskey in the United States and boasts a clean and smooth taste. It almost has hints of a potpourri and overall a more fruity flavor profile than the former.

I sat down with the folks of ASW Distillery, a local Atlanta business that is growing fast. We took a tour of the distillery and then had a cigar to discuss their journey thus far in the spirits industry.

I had a beautiful conversation with BK Jackson. He is hands down one of the most talented Saxophonists I’ve ever met.
