  • Appliance Repair Leads Only Come From Lead Sites?

Appliance repair calls come from four places. Your Business Profile, Local Services Ads, Google Search ads and bought leads.

Local Services charges per valid lead. From October 1, 2026, it also charges for a missed call during business hours when the caller stays on the line more than 20 seconds.

Search ads let you pick the words. Negative keywords keep your ads off do it yourself searches.

In a 2006 opinion letter, FTC staff said a business that buys a lead generally has no established business relationship of its own with that person. Ask the seller what the customer saw and how many shops get the same lead.

Speed matters. Harvard Business Review found only 37 percent of 2,241 companies answered a test web lead within an hour. Verdict is smoke.

  • A Discount for a Google Review Is Totally Fine?

Landscaping calls follow the weather. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says grounds workers may be busier in spring, summer and fall, and some crews switch to snow removal in winter.

Keep your Google Business Profile sharp all year. List up to 20 service areas, post real before and after photos with the town in the caption, and mark the business temporarily closed if you close for seven days or more in a row.

Turn paid ads up a few weeks before the rush. Local Services covers landscaping, lawn care, tree services and snow removal, and your ad stops once you hit your monthly max.

A maintenance plan is the cheapest lead you will ever get, because it is the same customer again.

The FTC review rule took effect October 21, 2024 and does not ban incentives without strings. Google bans payment, discounts or free service for any review. Verdict is smoke.

  • Google Killed Call-Only Ads. Are Your Phone Leads Dead?

Google removed every way to create a new call-only ad in February 2026, and existing call-only ads stop getting impressions in February 2027.

The replacement is a responsive search ad with a call asset attached. It can hold up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, and a tap on the call button costs the same as a click on the headline.

The real risk is counting. Turn on call reporting before you build anything, mark the Calls from ads conversion primary and set a minimum call length that fits your trade.

Schedule call assets for staffed hours. From October 1, 2026, Local Services Ads also charge for missed calls during business hours when the caller holds more than 20 seconds.

Run the old and new ads side by side until the new ones log calls, then remove the old ones.

  • Bought a Pest Control Lead? Are You Free to Call It?

In a 2006 opinion letter, FTC staff said a business that buys a lead generally does not have its own established business relationship with that consumer, which is one of the exceptions for calling numbers on the Do Not Call list.

Staff said it would not recommend action if the seller clearly told the consumer what would happen before they submitted. The letter was about lenders, it is staff's view and not binding, and other rules may apply. Ask for proof of consent and talk to a lawyer before calling bought lists.

Before buying, ask how many companies get the same lead, what words the customer saw, how long consent records are kept, and buy a small batch first.

Your Business Profile can list up to 20 service areas within about two hours of driving. Local Services charges per valid lead, and from October 1, 2026 some missed calls held over 20 seconds are charged too.

Harvard Business Review found only 37% of 2,241 companies answered a web lead within an hour. Call back within minutes and set the budget from your own cost per booked job.

  • Do Big Companies Own the Tree Service Market?

A 2007 study in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry found the four largest tree care firms held only 4% of industry receipts across nearly 82,000 businesses. The numbers are old, so treat them as a rough picture.

Google allows one Business Profile per business. A second profile for stump grinding usually splits your reviews and can get both profiles in trouble.

List up to 20 service areas by city or ZIP code within about two hours of driving, and build a page for each service and each town you really serve.

Write the storm plan before the storm. Sort calls by danger, update your hours and text anyone you cannot reach with a callback time. On normal days, reply to every paid call or form within 15 minutes.

Tree trimmers and pruners have one of the highest injury and illness rates of all occupations, so say plainly that you carry insurance and be ready to send proof.

  • Should Plumbers Just Buy Their Leads?

Many lead sellers send the same request to three or four plumbers at once, so a shared lead is a race that often goes to whoever quotes lowest.

Owned channels like your Business Profile, website and reviews make you the only plumber in the conversation, and you keep the customer.

Local Services charges per valid lead, so your business hours act as a billing setting. From October 1, 2026, missed calls during business hours are charged when the caller holds more than 20 seconds.

Harvard Business Review found only 37% of 2,241 companies answered a web lead within an hour. Turn on a missed call text back and ask every caller the problem, urgency and address.

The 90 day plan starts with the profile, website and review requests, adds Local Services and a small Search test in days 31 to 60, then keeps what books jobs at a cost you like.

  • The Cheapest HVAC Lead Is Always the Best Deal?

A cheap lead that never books costs more than an expensive one that does. Shared leads cost less but go to two or three other companies at once, so the first company to call wins.

Your break even cost per lead is your average profit per job times your close rate. With made up round numbers, a three hundred dollar profit and one close in four gives a break even of seventy five dollars a lead.

Run two tracks at once. Local Services or Search ads bring calls this week, and your Business Profile, reviews and service pages bring cheaper calls over the next year.

From October 1, 2026, Local Services Ads charge for some missed calls during business hours when the caller stays on the line more than 20 seconds.

Speed matters. Firms that tried to reach a lead within an hour were nearly seven times as likely to have a real conversation, per research in Harvard Business Review.

  • Google Ads Keeps Your Form Leads Safe Forever?

Google's help page says lead form leads expire after 60 days, so you should download them often. The Google Ads API can also pull up to 60 days of leads.

Only users with Standard or Admin access can download leads. Billing, Email only and Read only users cannot, so check who on your team has the right access.

For most owners the webhook is the answer. Paste a webhook URL and key from your CRM into the lead form editor, press Send test data, and check that the name and phone land in the right fields.

Google's developer docs say a single lead is not guaranteed to arrive exactly once. Use the lead_id to skip repeats, not the phone number.

Every lead form needs a privacy policy, and getting the lead is only half the job. Send new leads to a phone and call back within minutes.

  • More Pages Means More Google Traffic?

Free Dentist Office lists 164,748 dental offices in all 50 states and DC. On October 1, 2026, Google showed 178 of its pages as indexed. The article says plainly there is no happy ending yet.

The first version was California only, with 18,460 office pages that were mostly a name, an address, a phone number and a specialty. After the September 2026 spam update began on September 24, average position slid from about 12 to about 18.

The fix was a gate. Pages without something of their own stay up for people with a noindex tag. That pulled 16,660 thin pages out of the index on purpose.

The page indexing report showed 178 indexed, 20,017 discovered but not indexed, and 0 crawled but not indexed. Google was crawling about 12 URLs a day, which would take close to 20 years to cover 86,000 URLs.

Lessons for any site. Count the pages that deserve to exist, read the reason column before you change anything, and let thin pages step back from Google.

  • More Clicks Means More HVAC Jobs?

If all Google sees is a click or a call, it finds more clicks and calls, including the ones that never become work. The fix is to send booked jobs back into Google Ads.

One giant campaign mixes a fifty dollar tune up with a ten thousand dollar install under one budget and one bid. Build one campaign per job type instead.

Import phone call conversions from your own records, and wait at least four hours after creating the conversion action before the first upload. Since June 15, 2026, enhanced conversions for leads uploads go through the Data Manager API.

Local Services Ads began moving into Performance Max in August 2026 for some United States advertisers, with the rest in 2027. Save your lead history before your account switches.

From October 1, 2026, Local Services charges for some missed calls during business hours when the caller holds more than 20 seconds.
