1st Insight- When you advance the gospel, you will be seen as a trouble maker.-v1-v9

2nd Insight- When falsely accused, let your integrity speak for itself.

3rd Insight-When placed on the stand, stand for the man.

1st truth- You may be bound but it’s o.k. to stand your ground- v22-v29.

2nd truth- When you are accused, it helps to bring the real reason to light-23:v1-v10.

3rd truth- Stand for the right reason and Jesus will comfort you in your toughest seasons- v11.

Takeaway: When it comes to the Gospel, am I devoted or am I distracted?

1) Humble devotion flows from a gospel-focused life... and church.

2) Two ditches can distract us: legalism and licentiousness

3) Distraction will lead to devotion; of the wrong kind.

4) Circumstances are simply a platform for gospel devotion to be proclaimed.

1st reminder- We must never allow people to keep us from fulfilling God's purpose-20:36-38; v.1-4.

2nd reminder- We must always precede our path with prayer- 20:36; v.5-6.

3rd reminder- We must receive our strength from the Lord, encourage others and be encouraged by others along the way- v.7-9.
