First celebrated 157 years ago in Galveston, TX, today is a special day in African American history and American history as a whole. This year, we celebrate the day as a federal holiday, as President Biden signed into law in 2021. On the 157th anniversary of Juneteenth, I wanted to come out with an episode that highlighted the intersection between Cannabis and Black history.  Juneteenth signifies the end of slavery and serves as a reminder to bring awareness to Black stories to infinitely advance racial equality. Year-round, no matter your skin tone, be sure to share black voices, support black-owned businesses, share black creators, and increase your consumption of media from black directors, artists, and creators  This Sunday, we all need to take the time to acknowledge our Nation's past mistakes and celebrate the progress we have made collectively. Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949. In this episode, Cadabra discusses the impact of Cannabis on Mental health and identity as well as some personal insight on using cannabis as medication. No matter your age, you can find yourself dealing with anxiety, stress, and/or depression. Our mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. The state of our mental health can change over time and flourish or diminish based off of our personal access to good coping skills and resources when in need. Never let a small inconvenience sabotage your whole day, there's a variety of resources available to help you cope with daily stressors in a healthy manner.
