Cadabra is At Home Sick, which gave her time to write this special BONUS EPISODE for yall! Today, we're talking about the historical move made by Joe Biden to pardon thousands of non-violent federal simple cannabis possession convictions from 1992-2021 and, on the more local side of legalization, we're talking about what Amendment 98 is and what it means to residents of Arkansas.
Biden's move is historic in that it is the largest step made by a president regarding the plant, however, because the majority of federal cannabis charges are for distribution, conspiracy, or possession with intent to distribute, this will not result in anyone being released from federal prison. This will only apply to federal simple possessions charges and simple possession charges within D.C.
However, the president is calling upon local leaders at the state level to use their clemency power to grant pardons for convictions as well.
