Chris Queen chats to Katarina Barruk, a Swedish Sámi singer, songwriter and pianist, who sings in the rare Ume Sámi language.
She talks about her Bicep collaboration, working across genre and her aversion to genre, the joy of being young leading to saying yes to more, and the rooting of language by place. She also speaks about the assimilation of and attempted erasure of the Ume Sámi language by national governments. Katrina and Chris also loosely discuss the parallels between the treatment of, and the importance of, Scottish Gaelic and Ume Sámi.

Andy Reilly chats to Scottish techno legend Mha Iri about the independence allowed by releasing on her own label, WHY DON'T YOU DANCE?, and how it leads to her being able to be more creative and experimental. She also speaks about trusting your work to resonate with the audience without the safety blanket and support of working with a larger label. Her new ‘Elements’ collection and engaging with her Instagram broadcast group community to create its artwork is also mentioned. Plus: The perils and joys of DJing on a busy train, surviving in an industry that can chew you up and spit you out, and embracing the feminine within the still male dominated world of techno.
