Snappin' er Around

We open with discussion of Andrea Skinner resigning from Hockey Canada Board of Directors, while giving a more in-depth reaction to the overall situation. Some end of summer signings and extensions are discussed, while we then focus on the Avs and how some of their future contracts may look. Trophy predictions wrap the episode as the season is just days from opening night!

We open by talking about how unimportant the preseason is to most players, as well as a few signings and extensions that happened over the week. Then move into our Pacific Division preview and how we think the division will play out. Finishing we talk about the place and off body checking in hockey and what age is acceptable for players to begin body checking.

Some minor signings, and a small gaffe of forgetfulness, begin this weeks pod, as we continue our divisional predictions and hot takes leading up to the season. This week we focused on the Metro, each with small differences in our standings prediction, as well as providing our hot takes for the division.
As always thanks to Travis Sweiger (Insta - @tsweigsmusic) for the intro/outro music riff.

With not much happening across the NHL, we talk about the Miller and Stutzle extensions before going into our way too early predictions for the Atlantic Division standings. We also provide our hot takes for each Atlantic team with a record to see how wrong we are. Also, you can earn a chance to take part in a Snapping' er Around fantasy draft in the coming weeks.

The off-season has come to a crawl and news has been scarce, but we still found a way to cover an entire episode. We discuss the World Junior Gold Medal game before talking about the few signings that have happened over the last week and a bit. We finish off with discussion on the news of a World Cup of Hockey in 2024 and what we expect from it.

It's been a "FLAMING" off-season, as Calgary continues their retool with the signing of Nazim Kadri. To make room on the cap, Sean Monahan is dealt to Montreal, and is Lou and the Islanders playing the big picture? We then , discuss the trickle down effect of the Kadri signing and how the Avalanche may plan to fill the hole left at 2C. We finish with some World Junior talk, and give our predictions for who will meet in the Gold Medal game.

Back for episode 5, and we open with a little person life talk before moving into the U18's gold medal win and talking about the WJC team Canada's first pair of games. We talk the Jonathan Huberdeau extension and revisit the trade wth Florida to see if that changes perspective at all. We touch on the Islander rumours before moving on to Vegas and their recent bad news. The episode finished on a somber note as we send our thoughts to Ben Stelter's family and friends.

Our 4th episode kicks off with the Klingberg signing in Anaheim. We rehash the ordeal that fans go through when a star player leaves their team. What is Lou hiding in Long Island? We discuss the Kadri to the Islanders rumours before jumping into some RFA signings, including the Devils and Bratt only agreeing to a 1-year deal?! The Hlinka Gretzky is on with the 2022 World Juniors right around the corner, so we give our opinion on those Team Canada rosters. Thanks again for everyone that tunes in make sure to follow along on social media!
