  • Episode 145 - Stockinette Forever
This week I take a look at my progress on the Idunn sweater, chat a little bit about my near FO with the Yellowtail Shawl, and share a finished sock yarn spin. At the end of the video I show how I installed the bulky flyer on my Schacht Sidekick as well as how I fill my bobbins evenly (without hills and valleys), even when using hooks instead of a slider. Today we chat about some delicious tea, a couple of sweater WIPs, a shawl, a hat and a whole bunch of projects knit from singles yarns. I talk about some considerations when knitting with singles yarns, as well as an update on my combo spin! Hint: it's going really well - picture below! Come on, let's knit! • Episode 138 | Another Combo Spin + Sweater Update
The first show of 2017!!  Kicking things off with a new spin, an old (ish) project, a review and plenty of enthusiasm! Thanks for joining me! Knitting | Brio Garter Hat by Stephen West Stopover Pullover by Mary Jane Mucklestone, and using techniques from Amy Herzog's first Craftsy class, Knit to Flatter (this is an affiliate link, and using it to purchase this Craftsy class helps support the podcast without any additional cost to you) Mason Jar Cozy 3 Ways by Melissa Kwan Review | We take a look at Hong Kong based KPC Yarn. With 4 base fiber offerings, each coming in at least 3 different yarn weights and 40 to 60 different colors, they are definitely worth a second look! Thank you to KPC Yarn for providing the yarn and swatches for review! Hand Spinning | Combo Spin with Into The Whirled Falkland in the il tramonto colorway and Spunky Eclectic Falkland in Nebula - both were club colorways from the spring of 2015. I walk you through my planning and fiber prep for this project.  I will be spinning it on using the smallest whorl on the regular flyer on my Lendrum spinning wheel. I also give an update on my Pigeonroof Studios Shetland singles I talked about on the last episode.

  • Episode 137 | A Very Handspun Christmas
Lots of knitting, tons of spinning! I finished my Christmas socks and started another pair, make a little progress on the Brio Garter Hat, share a new project - a rainbow striped cardi.  My handspun I share this week consists of 3 finished spins spun 3 different ways - singles, chain plying, and traditional 3-ply. At the end of the video I walk you through doing the calculations I do to get my sock length just right.  I hope you find it helpful! See you with lots more knitting and spinning in 2017!
