Tonight, on Politics Nation, Inauguration Day is six weeks away, but President-Elect Donald Trump is behaving as if his second term is already underway. Trump appeared on the world stage Saturday, attending the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in France. He also held diplomatic side meetings with the presidents of France and Ukraine, as well as the UK's Prince William. In recent days, the president-elect has been vocal on foreign affairs discussing tariffs for Canada and Mexico as well as threatening retribution against Hamas should they fail to release remaining Israeli hostages. We discuss all of this with Minnesota Senator Tina Smith and Texas Representative Marc Veasey. Back in the U.S., there have been a flurry of picks for his cabinet and second term team. Many of the choices are causing concern among congressional democrats and republicans alike. Plus, we have the latest on the search for the suspected shooter of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson with NBC Correspondent George Solis.
