While enjoying the perfection that is Disneyland and seeing the attention to detail and dedication that the employees show in creating a phenomenal experience for visitors, I had to wonder how they manage to show-up daily and help create the fantasy of Disney even while enduring hardships in their personal lives. That’s why it’s imperative to show compassion to others, especially those we whom we encounter briefly. We never know what their personal struggles are and compassion lets them know we understand who they are even if we don’t know the details for their lives.

After standing at the roadside supporting athletes in the Malibu Triathlon, I was reminded again how important it is to get into the race and not give up. Every kind of person with ranging abilities and strengths participated and regardless of their experience or limitations, they chose to be in the race and give their best. This is indicative of how life is. Don’t be afraid thinking you can’t do it or you’re not good enough. Run your race and give your best, and even though at times you may ache this too shall pass, so don’t give up.
