Story Transcript:

Cy: Ar ben y llwybr hir o Offa's Dyke, roedd hi'n ddiwrnod oer o aeaf, a chwiban y gwynt yn llenwi'r awyr mân.
En: At the top of the long path of Offa's Dyke, it was a cold winter's day, and the whistle of the wind filled the fine air.

Cy: Roedd Carys yng nghwmni Gwyn, y ddau yn gwisgo cotiau trwm a sbectol eira.
En: Carys was in the company of Gwyn, both wearing heavy coats and snow goggles.

Cy: Mae'r llwybr, sy'n rhedeg ar hyd yr ffin rhwng Cymru a Lloegr, o dan lwydni'r gaeaf a'i welw.
En: The path, which runs along the border between Wales and England, was under the grayness of winter and its pallor.

Cy: Roedd Carys yn edrych ymlaen am y siwrnai hon ers misoedd.
En: Carys had been looking forward to this journey for months.

Cy: Roedd hi'n uchelgeisiol, yn ymhyfrydu mewn heriau, a hon fyddai ei llwyddiant mawr.
En: She was ambitious, delighting in challenges, and this would be her great achievement.

Cy: "Rydym ni bron â'i wneud, Gwyn," meddai Carys, ei llygaid yn disgleirio o awch dwys.
En: "We're almost there, Gwyn," said Carys, her eyes shining with intense eagerness.

Cy: Ond llais Gwyn, yn dawel ac yn bwyllog, athrylith o resynebolrwydd: "Carys, rhaid i ni feddwl yn gall.
En: But Gwyn's voice, calm and cautious, an embodiment of rationality: "Carys, we must think sensibly.

Cy: Os bydd y gwynt yn codi eto, gall fod yn beryglus iawn.
En: If the wind picks up again, it could be very dangerous."

Cy: "Roedd y bwydydd difaol yn rhuo ac yn gyfieithu i ffaith na ellid ei hanwybyddu.
En: The ominous elements were roaring and translating into an undeniable fact.

Cy: Eira'n dechrau disgyn yn ddychwelyd, yn anorffenedig ar ôl dim ond ychydig fisoedd o dywydd clir.
En: Snow began to fall again, unfinished after only a few months of clear weather.

Cy: Roedd ffordd Carys yn llenwi a thynged tynghed ar hyd yr awyr lwyd.
En: Carys's path was filling, and fate loomed along the gray sky.

Cy: Ail-ymdroi bob cam, pawb sylweddoli pob cam yn y tywydd garw.
En: Turning each step repeatedly, everyone realized every step in the harsh weather.

Cy: Roedd Gwyn yn cynghori ei ffrind a'i chymar o bob achos: "Mae'n bryd inni chwilio am loches, Carys.
En: Gwyn advised his friend and companion of every situation: "It's time for us to find shelter, Carys."

Cy: "Ond penderfynodd Carys, fel ei ffordd hi bob amser, i barhau.
En: But Carys decided, as was her way always, to continue.

Cy: Roedd hi'n llawn dalent a hyder yn ei dawn.
En: She was full of talent and confidence in her gift.

Cy: Yr oedd hon yn siwrnai oedd yn llawn lleisiau o arwyr o'r gorffennol, ond nawr y lleisiau oedd y rhai a fyddai'n ffarwelio â nhw hyd nes i Gwyn lithro.
En: This was a journey filled with voices of heroes from the past, but now the voices were those who would bid farewell until Gwyn slipped.

Cy: Roedd y rhan o'r llwybr lle'r oedd Gwyn wedi llithro yn deptaidd ac yn pyst, ac yn y fan honno y sylweddolais Carys mai lleisiau o wirionedd oedd yr unig rai i'w gwrando: "Gwyn!
En: The part of the path where Gwyn had slipped was steep and icy, and at that point, Carys realized that the voices of truth were the only ones to heed: "Gwyn!"

Cy: " gwaeddodd Carys, yn rhuthro i'w helpu.
En: Carys shouted, rushing to help him.

Cy: "Rydyn ni angen Aros.
En: "We need to stop.

Cy: Mae angen noddfa arnom.
En: We need shelter."

Cy: "A dyna hi, claddwyd y fflamau o uchelgais wrth eu synnu gan ystafell o fraint a diogelwch.
En: And there it was, the flames of ambition were extinguished by the realization of the need for shelter and safety.

Cy: Dewison nhw le cysgodol dan ganghennau trwm cerig hen goedwig, yn barod i aros y darpariaethau hyd nes y byddai'r storm wedi llanw.
En: They chose a sheltered spot under the heavy branches of an old stone forest, ready to wait out the provisions until the storm had passed.

Cy: Roedd Gwyn yn sefydlog eto, a llygad Carys yn llwyd.
En: Gwyn was stable again, and Carys's gaze turned gray.

Cy: Dysgodd y gwers o res a dewis wrthi.
En: She learned the lesson of reason and choice firsthand.

Cy: Roedd uchelgais yn bwysig, ond roedd cyd-chwaraewyr fel Gwyn yn fwy amhrisiadwy.
En: Ambition was important, but companions like Gwyn were more invaluable.

Cy: Roedd yn rhaid i ambell dro i'r dirwedd hon gynnwys naws pragmatig a gofal o bocs wythyn ffyddlon gyd-destun bywyd.
En: Sometimes this landscape required a pragmatic approach and the care of a faithful context box.

Cy: Yno, dan y coed, y ddau yn aros i'r gwynt foddi, daw'r diwrnod i gloi gyda chysur, hyd yn oed o dan lid yr eira.
En: There, under the trees, the two waited for the wind to subside, ending the day with comfort, even under the wrath of the snow.

Cy: Roedd cyfeillion yn bwysicach nag unrhyw her.
En: Friends were more important than any challenge.

Cy: Roedd yna le prynedig i wrando, a chafodd Carys hynny, heb anghofio.
En: There was a hard-earned place for listening, and Carys gained that, without forgetting.
