Your hosts immerse themselves in the whimsy and excess of Barry Levinson’s notorious 1992 flop, “Toys.” Barry and Julia celebrate the film career of LL Cool J, question the big third act twist of a main character and cringe at the gratuitous over-use of Tori Amos music. Also- does anyone really want to know about the love life of Willy Wonka? This movie certainly thinks so! Barry is a fan of this not-quite-a-cult-film, while Julia thinks Zevo Toys is a certified nuthouse.

Barry and Julia lack discretion, boil some rabbit stew and will not be ignored as they discuss Adrian Lyne’s definitive erotic thriller, “Fatal Attraction” (1987). Barry tells his famous “Fatal Attraction” story and admits to always rooting for Glenn Close’s Alex, while Julia compares the film’s different endings and questions the unsanitary locations of the sex scenes. Also discussed- where on Earth does one find battery acid on such short notice?

Barry and Julia dive into this Maui based crime thriller that is not supposed to be a comedy. This Thanksgiving turkey gets basic facts about Maui wrong, has too many characters, a convoluted plot and needs more action. Not even Bruce Willis and John Travolta can save this dire screenplay.

Barry and Julia take on “Fall” (2022), the late summer B-movie sleeper about two young women who climb a massive structure for no good reason whatsoever. Julia analyzes the film as though it were made by Stanley Kubrick, while Barry roots for the vultures and ponders if Jeffrey Dean Morgan shot all of his scenes in a single day? Other questions posed- how tasty are birds with the feathers unplucked and did M. Night Shyamalan ghost write the screenplay?

Barry and Julia discuss Ted Demme’s 1996 comedy/drama, “Beautiful Girls.” Your hosts were once big fans of this but only one of them is still into a movie this self-consciously hip and semi-creepy. Your hosts discuss Rosie O’Donnell’s movie career and if her show stopping monolog should have taken place in a drug store. Also- is this movie the reason why a certain Neil Diamond song is now played at every single sporting event?
