So Many Books, So Little Time - Podcast

The story of Winston in the world of Ingsoc and Oceania continues with Dave reading chapter 8 of George Orwell's dystopian fiction "1984". In this chapter Winston walks into prole country. He chats up an old drunk and revisits the pawn shop where he bought the diary. Dave and Roo are mortified by the lack of subtlety displayed in Winston's actions and questions.

In chapter 7, Dave and Roo finally find out about the proof Winston has that the past actually existed, and they break their "let's try not to talk about modern politics rule" afterwards as Winston's fiery speech at the end becomes too relevant.
