Truncate silence

How much editing is needed

Long pauses

Saving your file

Audio formats

MP3

M4A / AAC

WMA

MP3 Bit rates

Do not use a variable bit rate

Might not play on all platform

Best is a fixed rate such as 64Kbps, 96Kbps or 128Kbps

64Kbps is AM radio quality; good for talk only

96Kbps is FM radio quality; good for talk and some music like bumper music

128Kbps is CD quality; good for recording music

192Kbps is high quality and probably not necessary for a podcast

Use either 22.05kHz or 44.1kHz (CD quality)

Mono, stereo or joint stereo
