This episode is about my experience at the University of Lancashire as Head Coach. I wasn't expecting to find a young student who would go on to be a professional soccer player scoring in the premiership. This is a fun story for me to look back on especially because it has a happy ending. For a moment though wasn't sure it was going to be like that after a number of rejections.

The world has been turned upside down over the past 12 months and Covid-19 has impacted soccer across the board. College soccer has been halted, re-started and pushed back similar to the pro-game. In this episode, we talk about players looking to make their way into the pro game and soccer game using showcases to do that. I discuss the price involved and debate whether or not it can be improved upon.

John Kavanagh returns to Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to recap Conor McGregor’s loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 and discuss what is next. Kavanagh says that (6:30) they prepared to defend leg kicks during training camp, but were not expecting the damage they caused. (14:45) Kavanagh addresses comments he made to Ariel in their pre-fight interview and the tweaks they’ll look to make moving forward. (20:00) He then says that McGregor would like a trilogy fight with Poirier before summer for the lightweight title.

This week I've spent most of my time building an 'Online Cardio Course', but one that professional athletes could also do. I didn't water it down or make it easier in any way. Fitness and more specifically your cardio will massively help you reach the next level...What does this mean for you as a soccer player? In short, strong cardio means having the ability to play soccer for the duration of the game without getting tired. Some examples of professional players with exceptional cardio are Christiano Ronaldo, Arjen Robben, and Jordan Henderson; they are able to continually play at a high level for 90 minutes without needing to be substituted.

This episode is a follow up on episode 4 where I was fortunate enough to have access to Pep Guardiola training sessions. At the start of the episode, I discuss the protocol of getting everything arranged. Then I discuss the actual training session from a coaches perspective. Hope you enjoy the episode. Today we take a look at Statistics in Soccer and what Xavi has to say. I also talk about my own personal experience regarding this subject.

"It makes me laugh to see all these GPS that they put on our bodies. Because when they look at the data, statisticians say to themselves: 'On 100 passes, 80 were accurate. ' Oh really? And how do you know they were good? Do you know how they count them? For them, it's valid from the moment the player controls the ball that I sent to him. This is a good pass for the GPS. So yes, the guy may have controlled the ball, but he has four opponents on his back. So no, that's a bad pass. The good pass was elsewhere, to the one who was free of marking, the GPS doesn’t detect that." Xavi
