In this episode, I chat with another special guest, Simon Rinne. Simon is a husband and father of two based in Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Simon is also the Founder of Mindful Men, a therapy practice that is dedicated to supporting men with mental illness and disability.
Simon's passion for mental health comes from living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Depression, Anxiety, and Burnout throughout the last 30 years. 2022 marked 10 years since Simon finally opened up and got help for his mental illness, and he shares his story to inspire other men to share theirs.

In this episode, I chat with special guest Averill. Averill became a Registered Social Worker in 2007 and earned her Master's in Public Health in 2018. She started Next Step Online Therapy in 2021 to respond to the increasing need for mental health support during the pandemic.
Drawing from her own lived experience as someone with ADHD, she began to specialize in adult ADHD in her private practice. Averill loves supporting people to tune into themselves more deeply, practice skills, and navigate their multifaceted lives. Averill is also a project coordinator at the BC Centre on Substance Use, where she supports the development of national and provincial substance use treatment guidelines.

I chat all things private practice: the biz and a bit of life.
In this episode, I talk all about having big dreams in your private practice—and giving yourself permission to actually pursue them. So often, we downplay our goals to stay comfortable or avoid judgment. But what if dreaming big wasn't unrealistic… what if it was necessary?
If you've been sitting on an idea, craving something more, or just needing a nudge to think beyond survival mode, this episode is your reminder that it's okay to want more and to believe it's possible.

I chat all things private practice: the biz and a bit of life.
In this episode, I talk all about the topic of counselling for free - a complex and often emotional part of working in a helping profession.
Many of us entered this work because we care deeply and want to support others, but when (or whether) to offer free services can bring up a lot of questions around boundaries, sustainability, and self-worth.

I chat all things private practice: the biz and a bit of life.
In this episode, I talk about what it really means to create a sustainable private practice—one that not only supports your clients but also supports you.
It's easy to get caught up in building a practice that looks successful on the outside, while quietly burning out behind the scenes. Sustainability goes beyond income - it's about energy, systems, boundaries, and alignment.

I chat all things private practice: the biz and a bit of life.
In this episode, I talk about the investment of private practice - what it really takes to build and maintain a business that's both meaningful and sustainable.
While many people focus on the freedom and flexibility of private practice, the truth is, there's also a significant investment involved - of time, money, energy, and emotional capacity.

I chat all things private practice: the biz and a bit of life.
In this episode, I talk about something that's just as important as defining your goals - getting clear on what you don't want in your private practice.
When you're building a business, it's easy to focus on what you're working toward, but identifying what you're working away from can be just as powerful.
