Trump may ask Republican legislators to do what Republican voters just couldn't, and deliver him Michigan and Pennsylvania, while Democrats say the sky is falling in and only if we all move to Georgia and vote Democrat to make sure they can push through their only half-popular agenda can we all be saved; depression is a disease of civilization, and only getting back to the roots of how humans are supposed to live can we fix it; fortunately, that "getting back to the roots" has some nice political and economic consequences, too.

Mike Pompeo insists that "there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration," shocking reporters; the Left still thinks that Trump using the mechanisms of democracy counts as undermining them; Biden is almost certainly the president, and that means we need to talk about "what Latino voters want" (it's not what you'd expect) and explore Michael Parenti the wannabe Stalinist revolutionary on socialism and capitalist imperialism.

We were all ready to move on. "Well, guess that was the Trump era," we thought. But, as usual with Trump, and as usual with 2020, things are never that simple, and they just refuse to GO AWAY.

In our second half, we abandon the exhausting world of top-level electoral politics for some lighter fare, a discussion of Eugene Debs, the World Socialist Web Site, why they aren't on board with woke mobs tearing down statues of Abraham Lincoln, and Noam Chomsky's ideas on what makes for a good revolution.

It looks like the Trump era may actually be ending. But with the Lincoln Project announcing that now it's time to go after "Trumpism," AOC and Jennifer Rubin agreeing to create blacklists of Trump "enablers" to make sure they "never get jobs again," the man's influence has hardly waned. And, indeed, Trump Republicans are increasingly convinced that fraud not only took place, it took place on a massive level. We explore what's going on in the Democratic Party and explore the Republicans' claims of fraud. Thanks for listening.

--When I saw Trump give his press conference yesterday, he looked like a man who is still fighting on the outside, but who has given up on the inside. And if Trump has given up on himself, the election is over. So, what now?

Pikachu is arrested; did the West fail at COVID?; should we be more like China?; fascism always seems to be rising; Glenn Greenwald leaves the Intercept, signaling a change that's been happening for some time in American politics; Henry David Thoreau teaches us that you cannot have freedom without virtue, and vice versa.

Trump's website is hacked; the cops shoot, and people riot--over and over and over again; the Department of Education thinks the world needs more fraud; and, of course, Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, Tony Bobulinski, Tucker Carlson, and those pesky Russian intelligence agents who seem to be just everywhere these days.

The lines between things are blurring--and historically, that means that new lines will soon be drawn. How and where those lines are drawn is up to us, and that means we have an unprecedented opportunity to build a society that reflects us. But we're hampered by the mainstream and conservative media, and by electoral politics that only looks at two parties.

It just might be a great year for weed; Democrats keep telling themselves Biden's ahead by double digits, like a kid telling himself there isn't really a monster in the closet; and the new era of the new and improved Socratic Citizen begins.
