A big problem in the treatment world of musculoskeletal injuries is having the client take an active role in the process, even though most want to go along passively.

Another issue arises from unrealistic expectations and a lack of logic looking at the state of their injury and relying solely on the provider to fix the problem completely.

When the treatment results don't happen right away, go as expected, or require the client to take an active role they automatically default to that the treatment must not be working and blame the provider.

In this episode, I share a few of those same problems of trying to meet unrealistic expectations in my own patients and how to approach the delicate subject when they tell you that you aren't helping them.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the messages I got from therapists from all over the world that were saddened to hear the podcast was ending and let me know how valuable it had been to them.

I never realized how many people it actually reached and how it was helping, I was just getting overwhelmed with still running my own clinic and everything else that came with life.

I found myself missing doing this show, especially the older version where I just told it how it is, didn't care if I offended anyone or hurt people's feelings.

It was almost as if this was a weekly outlet or therapy session for me and I wanted to get back to it.

So I decided, after so many providers reached out, to bring the podcast back, but with my own unique spin on it that will focus on more real talks about getting your business in gear, quit making excuses, striving to be the best of the best and even share my insights on the absolute absurdity I see on the internet from a bunch of idiots!

I started doing this podcast with one goal in mind of helping share my knowledge of quality soft tissue work with other providers to help more people in pain get good treatment and stay away from pain pills and surgeries, which only make things worse and ruin people's lives. 

Over the past 3 years, I have recorded over 300 episodes and connected with awesome manual practitioners from all over the world trying their best to become true masters at their craft.

A big reason I created The Soft Tissue Revolution was to cut through all the nonsense and bullshit from all the mediocre self-proclaimed "gurus" teaching courses and training providers that didn't know a damn thing about being excellent and running a successful business. 

So instead of complaining about it, I took action and put this all together and gave away every piece of knowledge possible totally for free to help motivate, inspire and show massage therapists that there was a better way to approach treatment and help more people get out of pain!

I am still active in a very busy clinic of my own and we are in the process of scaling the business to new levels, which will be taking up a lot of my time.

There are never-ending debates and discourses all over the internet from every practitioner out there about what the best treatment is. Often these debates get rather heated and eventually lead to hurling insults back and forth at each other, with no clear "winner" of what is actually the best treatment available.

Many of these debates are full of biases, lots of feelings and emotions, but no real focus on the reality of what is going on.

Remember that facts never care about your feelings.

" I don't agree with everything you say about the treatment process, especially that Chiropractic adjustments are not helpful and make the problem worse. I strongly disagree with that idea. Why can't you work together with Chiropractors to give the client the best treatment options possible? What do you get out of bashing Chiropractors so much?  It can come across as you being a real jerk and downright arrogant!"

I have been mentoring and training Massage Therapists for going on two years now and the number one thing they shy away from is the idea of critical thinking in the role of solving problems.

Some are intimidated by it and try to avoid having to do it by using the cop-out statement, "I'm not legally allowed to diagnose in the scope of my license, so I avoid doing it to stay compliant." This one I get and it is often the fault of the entire profession being too focused on providing service-based treatments, instead of solution-based ones that more people need.

Others say they don't even need to do it because they can just sense "intuitively" what is going on with the client once they start working on them. If you have been listening to the podcast over the years you know exactly what I think of that kind of bullshit!

One thing we must all agree on is the idea that we must know EXACTLY what a problem is before we can ever expect to fix it!
