Softball Fastpitch TV Show

On this episode we bring you another interview from The NFCA Convention. This weeks interview is with Crystl Bustos.

http://SoftballJunk.com is a great resource for fastpitch softball bats.

At the NFCA Convention Crystal Bustos took the time to talk to us about her transition from player to coach. She does mention that it is a completely different experience from playing and knows that everything is a learning experience.

When Crystal was 3 she began playing baseball and at about ten to eleven years old she transitioned over to softball. throughout her career she has met a lot of people that have helped keep her motivated and playing for the love of the game. Crystal, mostly known as a power hitter, actually began in softball as a slapper. With her experience in all aspects of hitting helps her coach the younger generation of girls to be as great as she is!

This show is a continuation of Bill HillHouse's clinic on pitching. Part 2 of this clinic Bill begins with demonstrating how and what to do to work on a rise ball. There are a lot more factors in each pitch, as shown by Bill, to have a successful set of pitches.

In the first part of Bill Hillhouse's pitching clinic Bill talks about how pitching is taught. A major importance in teaching a young girl how to pitch is to demonstrate! Having a visual to work off of and to see how to pitch the right way is a lot more beneficial to a player than for a coach to just be telling her to do something a certain way. Check this part of the clinic out if you may have a question on why your pitch is high, low, far to the right, or far to the left.

Former Olympian Caitlin Lowe demonstrates hoe to do, what she calls, a sneaky bunt. Caitlin does this clinic at the Triple Threat Softball Camp. The difference in this technique and forms of bunting is that you wait almost till the last minute to square off for the play. Caitlin explains all the fundamentals and timing situations to make your sneaky bunt successful!

At the Triple Threat Softball Camp Caitlin Lowe takes some time at the end of the day to talk to us about her involvement at the camp. Caitling started playing softball for her father when she was six years old. When she was in California she played at least 3 to 4 games a day.

Her advise to players out there on what weight is right for batters is that you need to have a bat that is balanced enough for you to handle. If you can't handle or preform to the level you desire then you should rethink the weight of your bat.

Caitlin says that with college coaches a aspiring college player must go 110% in all aspects of the game including GPA and ATTITUDE!! So always bring your A-GAME!
