So...I'm Watching This Show episodes

  • Episode 14: Black Lightning, Ingrid Goes West, The Post, The Oscars
So many topics, so little time! In this hour of show time we talk about Kristin's love for Black Lightning, Wil's love (and Kristin's hate) of Ingrid Goes West, how medium The Post was, the Oscar nominations, and last but certainly not least some new music from Charli XCX and the queen herself Kylie Minogue! It's certainly a varied but fun-filled episode this week for So...I'm Watching This Show and we're so happy you guys are here listening with us!

  • Episode 13: Girl’s Trip and Rough Night, or How NOT to Hide a Body
We had a bit of a lady's night a few weeks ago and watched Girl's Trip and Rough Night, two female-centric ensemble comedies that, you know what, we could do with some more of. One of these films succeeds a bit more than the other, but we truly liked them both and hope to see many, many more down the line. Bridesmaids kind of paved the way for these, but they both manage to find they're own footing and be different movies in many ways. So pull up a chair, cut some grapefruit, and relax with us as we chat about Girl's Trip and Rough Night!

  • Episode 12: Call Me By Your Name, or the Rain to my Desert Succulent
Call Me By Your Name is a touching movie about a relationship between a young man and a somewhat older man. It's not a gay™ movie, even though it's about a queer relationship. It's just a nice romantic movie about love and we want everyone to know that gay sex isn't all about penises and butts thank you very much so cool your jets about there not being "enough" explicit sex. Wil and Kristin loved this movie, and while Wil spends most of the time gushing about it, and Kristin spends most of the time comparing it to the book, they both find time to speak on the film's successes, which are many. Hang out with us while we talk about Call Me By You Name!

  • Episode 11: Pitch Pirates 3 and the Golden Dead Men
If there's a series of movies we truly WANT to like, it's for sure Pirates of the Caribbean. I mean, pirates, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, MERMAID?! It's tailor-made for us. So it's upsetting that they are just straight up NOT GOOD anymore! Wil has a few choice words for Dead Men Tell No Tales, and neither of our heroes really had much to say Pitch Perfect 3. However, Kingsman: The Golden Circle managed to roundhouse kick that sophomore slump directly in the face and impresses almost as much as the original. So come hang out with us while we chat about a few sequels from last year.

  • Episode 10: The Greatest Showman and Swooning For Sideburns
Wil's passion for music and movies collide in the Greatest Showman, a movie/broadway show he's been waiting for for almost a decade. The gang discusses the merits of the film AS a film, as well as how it handles race relations in the 1800s, PT Barnum's basically fictionalized life, and most importantly the SONGS! This episode is jam packed with laughs, swoons, and song samples to give you all the best idea of how the movie sounds. Tune in above or wherever you listen to podcasts!

  • Episode 9: Them Golden Globes & That Dang Baby Driver
This episode is a bit of a weekly round up collecting our favorite things that happened in the last seven days or so. We watched the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice awards, we watched Baby Driver, BØRNS put out a new album, and The Magicians season 3 started, much to everyone’s merriment. Trigger warning though. In regards to the Magicians the word “rape” is thrown around because, well, there’s a rape in season one and it is still referenced on the show. Real light-hearted, whimsical stuff! Anyway, enjoy this generally excited episode of So…I’m Watching This Show and be sure to subscribe and review if you have a good time hanging out with us!

Ep 9. 1) my favorite part was when the baby drove the car. 2) My scars remind us that the past is real. 3) Call me a thief, there’s been a robbery. 4) Dream hair

  • Episode 8: The Stuff We Loved in 2017
Generally we stick to movies and TV on this podcast, but today as we recap our favorites in those categories from 2017, we wanted to extend the episode to include Wil’s other passion: MUSIC! We’ll be going through Wil’s top ten songs/albums of the year, then comparing notes about what we loved on TV and in the cinema. • Episode 7: Star Wars The Last Jedi
Let’s get this out right away: We all really enjoyed SW:TLJ. It was fun and pretty and exciting, three things we all wanted from it. But is it perfect? Of course not. Tune in to hear what we liked most, and what we didn’t.

  • Episode 6: The Punisher and Karen Page Should Bone Down
We all loved The Punisher here at SIWTS, which was somewhat up in the air after Netflix’s mediocre showings with Iron Fist and Defenders. We were happy to gush about the shows highs and point out the very few lows, and wish heavily that Frank and Karen find love in each other sooner than later. More in this week’s episode!

Ep 6. 1) Punisher 2) Zach McGowan and Jon Bernthal, Big Face Off! 3) Now Kiss 4) Louis’ plan is for the birds 5) Sex scenes and long torsos 6) Frank’s “no problem” face 7) Know Homo. #thepunisher #kastle #netflixthepunisher

  • Episode 5: Riverdale, with Globs of Delicious Sugary Sweet Ketchup
Teen soaps? Heck yes. Teen soaps based on beloved, decades-old comics with a supernatural flair? Oh HELL yes. Kristin and Wil are smitten with Riverdale and its many characters, from former child star Cole Sprouse, to Mädchen Amick of Twin Peaks fame, to Skeezy Skeet Ulrich who you’ll recognize from seminal horror classic Scream. Our hosts tackle the general insanity of the show, and how it balances that with standard teen drama tropes. Pop some jingle-jangle, listen, and laugh along as we explore Riverdale!

    Ep 5 1) Riverdale. 2) Dawson’s rockin 90’s hair 3) Mrs Grundy comparison. 4) Plot plot plot plot. 5) HBIC. 6)
