In this episode I interview Solid's Head Fitness Coach Jordan. We get to learn a little about him and his up bringing here in Santa Barbara and we get to learn a whole lot about fitness! Jordan relied on fitness to get him through tough times as a teen and has now turned his passion for fitness into a career. He is a full time personal trainer at Superior Fitness on San Andres St. here in SB and also helps Solid Foundations instill confidence in the youth through Fitness every Friday! 

In this episode Jordan gives answers to common Myth vs Facts like the importance of supplements, the only way to gain muscle is by pushing heavy weight and the best way to lose fat is with cardio. These are just a few and we also get answers to your questions from IG.

Judgement: Never do for yourself what the efforts of others can do for you. Use their wisdom and knowledge to further your own cause. In doing so, you will appear intimidatingly efficient and knowledgeable. Ultimately, those who worked for you will be forgotten and you will be remembered. If you think it's important that you do all the work yourself, you wont get far. Consequently, find those with skills you lack and find a way to either take their work as your own or hire them and put your name on their efforts. However, to do this effectively, your position must be secure, as otherwise people will call you out for deception.

Gilbert tells his story of how when he started his first company he was a sub-contractor for a bigger company. He did all jobs through them and from the outside it looked like he worked for them as an employee which later come back to haunt him... 

Judgement: Everything is judged by it's appearance; what is unseen counts for nothing. Never let yourself get lost in the crowd, then or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicuous, at all cost. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, more mysterious than the bland and timid masses.

In this episode, Gilbert tells his story of how he used this law as a teenager to change his image in a desperate attempt to stop from being bullied and to fit in.

These stories will describe how we personally fell victim to, or used to our advantage each of the 48 Laws of Power that Robert Greene wrote about in his book.

Don’t worry, of course we will continue to do our regular program, we have plenty of guest lined up and will continue to keep uploading those important interviews.

I was recently invited to be a guest on the Hashing it out with Javi podcast, another great podcast based out of the 805! Javi learned about me through social media and asked if I would come on to talk about the special work we do at Solid Foundations. So this time I'm on the other side of the mic. This episode is the full recording from his podcast. ENJOY!

Guest Phillip Rendon and Victor Vega return to talk about how they have coped with the loss of loved ones.

Our discussion will include a quick intro into what caused us to want to be gang members when we were young boys, but more importantly we will talk about prevention strategies for those youth on the edge of gang life and solution strategies for those already in it. If you have  any specific questions you would like us to address, dm and we will answer them on the podcast.

We want to make it clear that we are speaking on this subject, NOT as any type of street authority, but rather as fathers and concerned members of our community.
