  • #388 Radio Host Mike Becht Talks Of God's Goodness Even When He Was Disobedient 6/30/23
“I didn’t have the heart to pastor. God gave it to me.”
Have you ever missed the voice of God? Have you ever heard the voice and ignored it? Can God do a work a life in the life of someone who has not been obedient? On this weeks show, Kurt and Chad talk with Christian radio icon Mike Becht. Having very little radio experience, Mike relocated as a young man to another state to volunteer from midnight to 6 AM as an on-air radio personality. Over a span of 40 years, he was eventually heard weekly by nearly 13 million people worldwide on over 700 stations on the program Soul 2 Soul, talking to the biggest names in Christian music history. But not all that glitters is gold. Mike shares his ups and downs from being fired from his dream job, to owning an award winning business, to nearly filing bankruptcy, to being called to pastor a church of 3 people, Mike tells of the grace God, who was with him all the while in spite of himself being so inconsistent with being obedient to Gods voice.

“You spend a couple of hours at church each week. You spend 40 hours at work.” When people talk about impacting the culture, one pastor said, “One hour a week at church isn’t getting it.” The opportunity at work for “ministry” is enormous. On this weeks show Tim Antkoviak of Christ at Work (https://christatwork.cc) talks about using your workplace as place to reach the hurting and lost people who may never step into a church. Through the stories that God is writing in the lives of business owners and employees, He is using people for ”ministry” for those who are making themselves available. Tim and Christ at Work want to tell those stories.
Christ at Work mission statement: Christ at Work exists because people need to feel connected, engaged, valued, and appreciated.
We believe God belongs in everything we do, including in our workplaces. We believe that He is the provider of all good things and that as good stewards of His blessings, we have a responsibility to steward what He’s given us in a way that honors Him.

  • #384 Part I Two Missionaries Tell How To Minister To Others - Overseas And Here At Home 6/2/23
You can be pretty sure God doesn't have an American worldview - He has a global perspective. Do you have a global worldview? This week’s show features two missionaries - one based in the US and the other living halfway around the world. They've asked to keep their identities and locations confidential due to the sensitive nature of their relationships and cultural restrictions. They sit down with Kurt and Chad to discuss ways to minister to (and speak the truth to) refugees coming to the US, as well as overseas in other parts of the world.
