SOLO - We Can Do Better, You Are Better

Listen Later

In todays episode, Jaden discusses excuses we make.  A lot of people get so far down the rabbit hole of excuses, that they even start making excuses for other people, in order to excuse themselves. People will make excuses for your achievements, as to why you had it easier or had an advantage and that is the reason why you had your success. So in a roundabout way, making an excuse as to why they do not have the same results. Some of these excuses would include, telling people that you workout and if you're in shape they'll say "well, you have an active job, so that oughta keep you in shape". Or if you have been working out for any amount of time(or do any hobby, for that matter) its "Are you married? Oh you just wait", "Just wait till you have kids", "Just wait for ... (fill in the blank)". As if getting married, or having kids, or any number of things that could be said would make you lose respect for yourself and let yourself go. But there is a reason for saying this kind of stuff. E V E R Y O N E does that. They are making excuses for you, because its what they did. Heres 4 ways to stop making excuses

  1. Take accountability: its your life, you have the power to do whatever you want with it. If you are making excuses, you are not doing what you want with it and shifting that ability to some unknown force that is stopping you from doing it.
  2. Look for these excuses (or rather "stories") that you have been telling yourself, that don't serve you: Everyone does this at one point or another, it is the natural man coming in and keeping you in mediocrity. Look for them in your own life and STOP THEM.
  3. Quit Lying: When you are lying, who's got your tongue? The fact is, when you make excuses, you have a miscommunication in your priorities and what is "expected" of you. If you are living the way you know you should, then there is no need for excuses. No need to lie. Because you have your priorities in order. If you are making excuses, you didn't do something because it isn't a prority,  but you know it should be
  4. Take Action: Make the changes! The only way to get over this hurdle is to do the work, and get your priorities in order so you have no excuses.

Remember, we can do better, and you are better than that!
