What is the “free prize” inside? It’s a book by Seth Godin where he teaches the art of the free prize. What do I get in addition to the transaction that I wasn’t expecting through the customer experience?
When you open a box of cereal at the bottom is a free prize. Inside a cracker-jack box is a free prize. In business, there’s something I get from you based on your knowledge, skill, desire, confidence, personality, and character that makes you special.
The challenge? Most of us have never been taught how to unpack our free prize. In this week’s podcast, I want to do just that. What’s your free prize intangibles? What makes you a must-have? What is your competitive advantage?

Difficult times by industry?
The “new normal” is that there is no normal. Lately, the world seems to be jumping from one catastrophe to the next within days. And if you watch the news, which is meant to create panic and click bait, then we are always in the midst of something bad. I’m reminded of the expression, tough times never last. Tough people always do. This too shall pass. We all go through bad times. We all experience disappointment, loss, and change. We all feel sad, anxious, and overwhelmed at various times in our lives. Then why do some people persevere and cope in the face of stressful times better than others? One word. Resilience. But it’s easier said than done because when you’re IN IT then it feels like you’re drowning with stress, worry, doubt, doubt, and fear.
Tips for Building Resilience
Tough times in my life?
Use this time to build out scalable systems to maximize on EVERY opportunity. Don’t let any deals slip through the cracks.

It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish.
Most things in life are about probability. This week’s podcast focuses on helping you FINISH what you start.
There are five reasons why I believe people don’t see something through to their conclusion.

Championship performers are great in the 4th quarter. They understand it’s not always how you start but how you FINISH. Let’s not limp across the finish-line in 2022…
I believe in running your business 13-weeks at a time. To reset at zero every day. The compound effect. Atomic habits. You know, all the classic books on goal-setting and follow-through.
During today’s Monday Mentor, I’ll help you get your mind right for the final quarter of the year.
These Monday calls are meant to be shot of energy to jumpstart your week and to overcome “Moody Monday.”

Performers who have a coach out-earn those who don’t by 2-3x. A great coach can change your life. They know how to pull the potential out of us and accelerate our growth.
I believe there are 3 things really great coaches do…
1) Make you have conversations you don’t want to have.
2) Make you do things you really don’t want to do.
3) Help you become something you never thought you could become on your own.
I’m so thankful for all the great coaches in my life who saw the good in me when it was easy to see the bad. There’s no telling where I would personally be without the coaches in my life.
Come join today’s Monday accountability call as we help you find and fill the missing structures in your business and help you accelerate your own growth.
Everybody needs a coach in life. Isn’t it time you found yours?
What’s the job of the coach?
What’s the role of the player?

Success isn’t a destination. It’s a journey. That journey is filled with imperfections. It’s never going to be perfect. There’s a concept called “the arrival fallacy” that has really stuck with me over the years. Come join me on Monday as we break down this powerful concept.

I hope you’re having a fantastic Labor Day weekend. I want to take a moment to celebrate all you solopreneurs out there. A solopreneur is any small business owner who is “solely” in charge of building and maintaining their own business.
A solopreneur sees their work as the distribution channel for their talents. But passion alone isn’t enough. I want to ask you what’s your “free prize?” What do I get from you that I can’t get from anybody else in your space?
Today’s video is in place of our normal Monday accountability LIVE call.
I know most of you weren’t able to take the entire holiday weekend “off.” That, after all, is part of being a solopreneur. However, I do hope you’re doing the things you enjoy with the people who matter most.

I was recently asked to speak at a company-retreat as a repeat speaker. My flight and hotel were booked. The date and topic were set. But then it came out that one of the event organizers wasn’t the biggest fan of mine and wouldn’t promote me as a speaker.
When I heard this news, it hurt. I go around the country speaking about building promoters and advocates for your business. That building a brand reputation takes years of consistency and delivering on a world-class customer experience. Not to mention, that I’m a “High I” on the DISC profile (which means I crave being liked).
What did I do wrong to this person or during my first speaking engagement. I sought out feedback from those who attended that event and they said they loved it. I’ve delivered my 5-Habits of Highly Effective Salespeople all over North America on some of the biggest stages including the Los Angeles Convention Center and New York City Marriott Marquis. I’ve delivered it to the most respected associations including Mortgage, Title, Real Estate, Insurance, and Financial Services.
After asking “what my contributions” were to this particular situation, I remember a phrase from my mentor, “Always go where you are celebrated and not merely tolerated.”
You see, we can’t make everyone happy. There are 7 billion people on the planet. We have many different personalities and beliefs. The more attention you get the more admiration you get but you’ll also get some detractors (haters) along the way.
In this week’s podcast, I encourage you to go where you’re celebrate, not tolerated. Some will believe in you (like you), some won’t, so what? We are only looking for those who are looking for us. Never let another person be in control of your self-worth and confidence.

We all want to meet the demands required of us as solopreneurs without dropping the ball. Distractions are all around us and seemingly unavoidable. However, many of our distractions are self-inflicted through time-waster activities and low-value activities.
‘‘ Effective’ multitasking on tasks that require deep thinking is impossible.” – Dr. Bruce
Studies show that when our brain is constantly switching gears to bounce back and forth between tasks, especially when those tasks are complex and require our active attention, we become less efficient and more likely to make a mistake. – Cleveland Clinic
Here are some tips to stop multitasking while building better habits.
1) Timeblock – Get the most important things and the non-negotiables on your calendar as recurring events.
2) Time Compression – Learn how to “compress” time into smaller chunks. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Instead of having large blocks of time, have shorter (15-30 minute) time blocks.
3) Dominant Focus – The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. Have a dominant focus for each “theme day” of the week that you can spend an hour on.
4) Set Priorities – Understand that “fires” will come up. Clearly define what takes precedence as top priorities in real-time so that you will stop whatever you are currently doing and then do that.
My final analysis is that many of your multitasking activities are a result of a lack of discipline. You might be working on something challenging and find creative ways to stop doing that task because it does require more energy than “easier” to do things.
