A study has sought to clarify the varying risks associated with hormone replacement therapies (HRT). 

In particular, researchers looked at the risk of heart disease, heart attack, stroke and rare but serious blood clots.

They compared eight different treatments, including tablets with combined oestrogen and progestogen, and another tablet called tibolone.
