Love songs come and go. This one came and stayed. The Word of God has withstood the test of time. It’s relevant. It’s redemptive. It’s even romantic. It’s God’s love letter to you, and it includes a love song, the Song of Solomon, that we might call an owner’s manual for love and marriage. Today, Ron begins to unpack this timeless love song as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “The Secrets of a Satisfying Marriage: Relationship Wisdom From The Song of Solomon.”
If you want to know how marriage was designed, who better to ask than the Designer Himself? From the very beginning, God had a vision for He wanted marriage to look like. Our culture has, in many ways, made a mockery of God’s design. But make no mistake, the Word of God is crystal clear on what marriage should look like. Stay with us as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “The Secrets of a Satisfying Marriage: Relationship Wisdom from the Song of Solomon.”
If you think you have a plan for your dream marriage, you should hear God’s! From the very beginning, God had a plan for marriage, a dream, if you will, for what it should look like. And for the next few weeks, Ron will share that dream with us in his teaching series, “The Secrets of a Satisfying Marriage: Relationship Wisdom from the Song of Solomon.”
In Ecclesiastes five, verse ten, King Solomon write, “He who loves money never has money enough.” Consider the negative impact of greed. It can divide churches, ruin families, and severely impact your fellowship with God. Ron takes us there next, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

In James chapter four, verse two, we read these sobering words. “You envy and cannot obtain, so you quarrel and fight." Well, today Ron takes us to the sixth of the seven deadly sins, envy. It stirs up untold amounts of strife, in relationships … in the church, and as we’ve seen for the past few months, it can divide our society at large. How can we overcome this deadly sin? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins that Drag You Down.”
Self-indulgence is the enemy of self-denial and the enemy of Christian discipleship. Those aren’t my words. They’re the words of Dr. Ron Jones, lead pastor at Atlantic Shores Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Well, the world preaches self-improvement and self-indulgence. Jesus taught self-denial and self-restraint. Today, Ron sets the table for us on how to overcome the deadly sin of gluttony.
You may think of gluttony as being addicted to eating too much. But there’s far more to it than that. The Bible has plenty to say about gluttony. And when it does, it always includes words of caution about drunkenness. The word gluttony not only excessive eating, but excessive drinking. Ron digs in to the subject of gluttony today, as he continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins that Drag You Down.”
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come on you like a robber, and want like an armed man.” That’s Proverbs twenty-four, verses thirty-three and thirty-four. Being lazy may seem harmless enough … certainly not as destructive as anger, pride or lust. But there’s a reason slothfulness finds its way into this list of the seven deadly sins. Ron tells us all about it next, as he continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”
