This video details the use of bedside ultrasound imaging and a phased array probe to evaluate cardiac structures and health, especially when looking for left ventricular contractility, the presence of pericardial effusion, and right ventricular strain. It reviews the four standard views of a cardiac echo examination-parasternal view (long axis), parasternal view (short axis), subxiphoid view, apical view-as well as cardiac structures, and optimal trasducer placements.
