In this part 1 of a two part series,  we talk about Black Men and education when it comes to the classroom and of course I had to have my Brodie bro, Antwan "Poe" Martin, on to talk about his experience being a young black male educator in the North, which is vastly different than how it is to be a young black male educator in the South. We talk about programs to help get more black men into education, teaching style in the North compared to the South, building those fundamental relationships, and mainly why we became educators. Part 2 will focus on outside the classroom, so stay tuned for that one!

In this episode, we discuss another favorite topic of mine and that is guns! Sorry, "firearms", same thing. We talk about the limitations put in place for African-Americans to even own a gun, much less be aloud to use and why gun laws today are historically and inherently racist to Black people. Plus, I talk about my experience with firearms and how shifted the movement from anti-gun to gun-friendly in my household. Lastly, I give the Wrap Up (that's what it's being called now), talking about what's coming next.

On this episode, I talk about and give a (very) brief history on the 5 main religions/lifestyles and compare them to each other in similarity and discuss the differences between imperialism and religious imperialism (spoilers, there is none). Plus, I talk about my religious beliefs, what I grew up on, and what my beliefs are now and in the future. Finally, I wrap up the episode and give a quick life update for the listeners after a 2 week hiatus!

On this second special of the week, it's Father's Day!(It was on Sunday when this special comes out). On this episode, I give all dads their props and roses for the same thing or things they do, like I did for the moms at there. Dad, like moms, deserve a break and all the love and support from their kids and others. I also get personal about losing my dad, and the foundation he left for me when comes to raising my own kids. This is tear shedder of a special, so I do hope you enjoy it! This is for you, Joe Burke.

On this 3rd SBM special, it's Juneteenth! (or by the time this comes out it's after Juneteenth, but the point remains the same). I talk about the origins of Juneteenth and how going forward, it should be celebrated the same way MLK day and Black History Month is celebrated. This is the reason why I started the podcast, why I love being black, and why I won't stop being black any time soon. This special is for Black people, allies of Black people, and racists who complain about Juneteenth being a national holiday, but don't complain about getting an extra day off! Enjoy!

On this week's episode, I talk about one of the greatest blessings on Earth in my opinion: Kids! I talk about the origins of Black people taking care of other people's kids since the beginning of this country's existence (particularly during slavery of course) and all the way through to modern day, where black grandmas and mother still take on that role of taking care of others, their motherly instincts kicking in. I also talk about how kids are NOT accidents or burdens, they're just born into their given situations. Plus, I talk about my experiences with kids and how I am the (or strive to be) Funcle Mar Mar (fun uncle). Finally, I give my final thoughts and hints at next week's episode ;)

This special podcast episode is dedicated to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country, especially the African-American soldiers who gave up two sacrifices, from the beginning of our country's founding all the way through World War II. They sacrificed the freedom to show they could along side their white brethren for a country that didn't want them to fight, as well as sacrificing their lives and returning back a country that didn't want them or see them as equal in the beginning. Thank you to the ancestors of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, the 369th Infantry Regiment, the 761st Tank Battalion, the 92 Infantry Division, and the 332 Fighter Group/Expeditionary Operations Group for the sacrifices they made. We appreciate and are thankful for it.    

In this week's episode, it's about jobs! Nope not Steve, I'm talking about the thing majority of Americans and people all over the world do everyday and that is work. I talk about the origins of terrible jobs starting with, of course, slavery. Some of y'all thought about it before, I know I have, and we talk about how corpos (corporations) truly do not care about a worker's well being, especially when it comes to Black folk. Plus, I talk about my job experience so far and how it's ok to change your profession to better suit you. Lastly, I'll go over my final thoughts and talk next week's special episode for Memorial Day. 

In this first ever SBM podcast special, it's all about the mamas and why they're the best human beings on the face of the Earth.  I talk about the constant sacrifices, accomplishments, and all around humility mothers show every single day. Also,  I remind everyone to hug, kiss, and tell their moms they love them every single day.
