This week I’ve been focusing a lot on the importance of unleashing your gift. I am such a strong supporter of aligning with your gifts and being able to make a living doing what you love!!! Many of us go to work chasing a check but not meaning. We set out to do things in the world based off of how society, our family, and the people around us have shaped us to view work life and success. However, you are set out to do so much more than chase a check!!! You have a purpose and wonderful gifts that have been given to you for a purpose. Once I realized this for myself the way I lived my life completely shifted. I want to share 5 benefits of aligning with and unleashing your gift!
People need your gift. It may be a creative talent, outstanding baking or cooking skills, a passion for working with children, or an entrepreneurial drive that allows you to take great risk. Whatever your gift may be, you can find a way to serve and contribute through it.
Your gift is the sauce of your value. Your value contributes to how much you make, and you get paid through the value you bring. When you are passionate about what you do, you can excel in much further ways than when passion is absent.
Connecting your passion with your purpose leads to more fulfilling relationships. When your work isn’t stressing you out or bringing negative energy your way, you are able to be present. When you get home you won’t be bringing your negative energy from work to your significant other, children, parents, siblings, or friends. Instead you will be excited to discuss and enjoy life without being so attached to what’s going on with work. You will be focused on nurturing your relationships and appreciating the company of your loved ones.
Loving the work you do will lead to better health. When you are out of alignment with your gift, the workplace can bring about high levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and unhappiness. However, when you enjoy the work you do you become filled with creativity, positivity, and an excitement to contribute to the best of your abilities while still being able to provide for yourself and your loved ones.
When you live your life with passion, drive, and a love for the work you do trust that success will follow. People can sense when you have a passion for what you do, and because of this you will most likely be extremely great at whatever it is you are doing! Why wouldn’t anyone want to support that? You are destined for greatness and to wake up each and every day feeling excited for what the day will bring. You owe it to yourself to live a life you love. I’ll end this with one of my favorite quotes by Nelson Mandela, “There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
