In this episode, Kevin and Britta explore “normal marital hate,” which recently showed up for ten days in their relationship.
We would love to normalize rupture and repair as a normal part of intimate relationships — not a sign that something is bad, wrong, or unworkable.
If you’re in a long-term relationship, I’m sure you have no idea what we’re talking about. ;)
And if you’re not in a long-term relationship, here’s something you get to look forward to!

In this solo episode, Kevin invites you to contemplate: Are you innocently exiling a generative, positive shadow-power of yours? Or a key nutrient that your body, being, and soul need? Are you throwing the metaphorical baby out with the bathwater in your attempts to learn, grow, and work on yourself?
If so, you're not alone. Most people innocently do this (ourselves included sometimes!). In this episode, Kevin shares a counterintuitive, different from the mainstream view of working with addictions.
If you're like us — or our clients — grasping and integrating this episode has the potential to connect you with more power, energy, nourishment, and other unique flavors of experience that are keys for you to thrive.
We love you and are grateful to have you in our community.

Principles-based learning can accelerate your learning curve by 1000x.
Principles are a simpler and more effective way of learning and embodying new ways of being.
In the learning process and on the journey of personal growth and development, most people are spending their time trying to learn specific techniques. This is helpful, but it's much more helpful to understand and grasp the principles behind the techniques.
If you can grasp a principle experientially, you then can effortlessly create an unlimited amount of fresh and new manifestations of that principle.
Put simply: If you want to save yourself a shitload of time and energy and become much more effective in your interactions, this episode is for you.

Cowabunga! Gather round for a story to inspire your rebellious, relentless, entrepreneurial spirit.
In this episode, we're exploring Kevin's life myth — from star athlete to professional poker player to transformational philosopher coach — through the lens of the guiding "daemon."
In ancient Greece, they believed each soul was paired with a daemon — not a demon, but a guiding spirit, a divine attendant who whispered life's purpose into our ears from the moment of our birth. This daemon was thought to be our higher self, the keeper of our destiny, the voice that calls us toward our truest path.
We're here to invite you to listen to that call. And to fucking go for it!

Does difficulty sleeping cause you to dread your days and nights?
If you struggle to get to sleep or stay asleep, listen to this.
We struggled to sleep despite using the best sleep hacks. We tried meditation, red lights, no screens, and other disciplined sleep hygiene techniques. Even after years of research and hard work, we still found sleep elusive.
What if we all go about trying to sleep better in the wrong way? A hyperfocus on sleep actually makes sleep harder. We count our hours asleep, and then feel exhausted all day if it is “too low.” Our relationship with sleep may be more influenced by how we think. We can rest when we aren’t winding ourselves up.
Do you get stressed out just thinking about how you will sleep tonight? Learn how to relax and get better sleep by using your thoughts in a new way.
For this episode, we teamed up with the Releasing Mental Tension Podcast. Rich Life joined us to discuss failed sleep hacks and what really worked.
Hear from “Good Enough” coach Rich Life as he explores how to Release Mental Tension. Rich knows we become more capable, creative, and connected human beings when we can relax into presence.
Two podcasts at one time! This episode will be published on both the Better than Therapy and the Releasing Mental Tension Podcast.

We struggle in relationships when we take things personally, have unconscious expectations of others, avoid conflict, hide our desires (from ourselves and/or our partner), close our hearts, beat ourselves up, and behave in other innocently stupid ways.
We thrive in relationships when we don’t take things personally, create agreements, embrace and enjoy conflict, openly share our desires, maintain a foundation of goodwill, celebrate mistakes, and, most importantly, have insights about the nature of human experiences in the context of relationships.
Because insight is what enables us to ‘move higher up the ladder of consciousness’ to a vantage point where things look and feel different.
When things look and feel different, we do different.
