Key scriptures that will help you start praying for your marriage, even in the face of infidelity. These scriptures will guide you and remind you that God can restore and rebuild no matter how broken things seem. As usual, my emphasis is that we turn scriptures into prayer declarations, that’s is what aligns us to God's perfect will for our lives

Use scripture to guide your prayers because we must always pray in line with God’s will.

Scripture references:

Genesis 2:24 – 'Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.' (Pray for oneness in marriage).

Mark 10:9 – 'Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.' (Pray that no external force or the enemy disrupts your marriage).

Ephesians 5:25-27 – 'Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her...' (Pray that your spouse models Christ’s love and you can also reflect Christ's love in your role).

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 – 'Two are better than one... if either of them falls, one can help the other up.' (Pray for companionship and teamwork in your marriage).

Galatians 5:22-23 – 'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness...' (Pray that your marriage produces the fruits of the Spirit).

Speak and declare these scriptures over your marriage:

1. Ephesians 4:32 – 'Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.'

Pray for compassion and a forgiving heart, as Christ has forgiven us.

2. Matthew 6:14-15 – 'For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.'

Declare that you will forgive so that you are walking in the fullness of God’s forgiveness.

3. Colossians 3:13 – 'Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.'

4. Romans 12:21 – 'Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.'

Pray that forgiveness will break the cycle of evil and restore goodness.

5. 1 Peter 3:9 – 'Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.'

Pray for the grace to bless your spouse, even when they have hurt you.

There are spiritual implications for someone who is married to a non-believing spouse or a spouse who is not committed to their relationship in Christ. Nonetheless, If you are already yoked, what do you do?, what are the options in your troubles apart from leaving them?

Just like a successful business is measured by profitability, we must ask ourselves what defines a successful marriage. A business is designed to make money for its owners, but what is marriage designed for? What was God's intent when He created marriage

Marriage is not a transactional relationship but a lifelong covenant based on faithfulness, grace, and unconditional love—just as God remains faithful to us.

Marriage involves love, respect, and a mutual commitment to reflect Christ's love for the Church.
