Everyone has a perspective on his or her body, and some of us spend quite a bit of time thinking about it. Having the wrong perspective about your body can actually be very dangerous, as we will hear with our guest today. But God can transform your perspective and lead you to a healthy relationship with Him and with yourself.
Our guest Hannah Richey struggled with Anorexia Nervosa from the age of 12 after suffering bullying from her peers. After rehab and several more years of struggle, she has found a new perspective as a young adult, a new wife, and a licensed massage therapist. Feel free to send Soul Grit an email to get in touch with Hannah.

Last week our host, Ann Taylor McNiece, suffered a medical crisis, which seems like odd timing, since we just started talking about our bodies. In this brief episode, Ann will update listeners on the event and what to expect for the podcast in the coming weeks, as well as reflect on the body. This crisis has revealed the fragility of the body and the weight of living in a fallen world.

Ann and Jess are back to talk about how we can actually start making new patterns of rest and connection for ourselves and our families. In this episode, you'll hear about Jess's forced rest (surgery) and Ann's failed attempt at family connection on the Sabbath (bake off). We'll bring it back to how you can connect with the Holy Spirit and a trusted Christian counselor to help you figure it out.

We constantly get the messages to do more and be more. We worry that our kids won't be successful if we don't have them in all the activities. We fear that we won't meet our goals if we don't hustle. But what is the impact on ourselves, our marriages, our children if we keep up this pace?
Join Ann and Jess in this episode talking through the impact of busyness on our emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health. Check out more about the "bids for connection" mentioned in this episode from www.gottman.com.

Drive-thru fast food meals, sleep deprivation, and the loss of free play are shaping how we live in families in modern times. But what is the cost to mental health for ourselves, our partners, and our children? What is the detriment to our discipleship to Christ?
Ann and Jess talk through trends we're seeing in our communities that include over-scheduling, child-centered families, and lack of Sabbath rest.
