If you've been down, weary, cynical, or uncertain, your hope may be in short supply. Every human needs hope. It's how our species has survived. This week is the first week of Advent and the very beginning of the observed Christian calendar: the focus is HOPE. This theme is reflected on in a deeper way to inspire at greater sense of it to last the whole year through. Today, on Soul School, I talk about a counter-intuitive tactic for gaining HOPE we rarely consider–and something about the "mechanics" of this concept of hope that is rooted in empirical science and vetted through countless human experiences and spiritual and community practices that have helped millions of humans through the ages.
