Wanna go on an adventure?!  As many of us may know, the school system is a set-up for many children to fail. Many children of color or low income kids go to jail shortly after starting school. Why is that? Well, Kim and Jay are here to pick it apart and give their input! The ladies are very familiar with the public school system. As little girls and young adults, they didn't notice the similarities between the two. However, now that they are grown and know better, they are ready to talk about it. The experience of going through metal detectors, suspensions, lack of mental health resources and the horrible school lunches are a part of a plan that many fall victims to.  Kim opens up about having to co-parent with an inmate and the ways of communication (or lack thereof) and Jay voices her opinion on the treatment of inmates after being released. They are people who made mistakes just like anyone else. Should they have a 2nd chance at life to get on a better path? Well, you gotta listen to find out! They also discuss the way jails and prisons are portrayed in televisions and movies. That show “Beyond Scared Straight”, Kim hates it! It seems like Jay agrees with her too, as the show doesn't serve any real purpose. At least, in their opinion.  Tune in and tell a friend! The ladies could've talked about this for hours. Happy 20th Episodeeeeeeee!! It's a Hairy Situation! The ladies came together to discuss the different levels of hair and their experiences. Jay addresses how hair is used for the male gaze, and Kim opens up about her experience with type 4 curls. They also take a quick trip down memory lane and remember the times when they had short hair. While having this hairy conversation, both of these women share their thoughts on teaching young girls about loving their natural tresses.  However, you choose to wear your hair, love, and nurture it.
