Pam is a confident DJ on multiple platforms. She has the ability to cross genres in unique ways, generating movement from her crowd and energy to the setting. Her precise ear for timing/mixing leans into a deep collection of funk, R&B, house, electro and more. Her mixing and selection set aside, Pam's read on a crowd, then transforming her understanding of their vibe into another level reveals her true strongpoint. Pam has played private rooftop parties, The 1 Hotel, W Hotel, high profile Fashion Week events, and maintains a quality residency at the Standard Hotel where she knows Christopher Foor. She has also opened up for QuestLove of the Roots, Nina Sky, Natasha Diggs, Brandy and Maxwell. Her diverse portfolio of events lends insight to her ability to observe, dig, mix, and create a night the crowd will cherish. In addition to her talent, Pam is kind, calm, real, and holds space for events supporting women, LGBTQ+, and people of color. She is helping make Miami's electronic music future inclusive, fun, friendly, and brimming with quality.

Christopher Foor is proud to feature his friend Fawks and the Fog City Pack on Sound Coalitions. Fawks and Christopher have been friends for five years, meeting at the Power House bar in SF and other Bay Area kink events. Since their introduction, Christopher admired Fawks' and the pack's devotion to hard work, creative thought, and strategic planning to add something more to the San Francisco music and kink scene- the Fog City Pack. The Fog City Pack has been making waves throughout the BDSM/kink scene including a recent feature in the New York Times and re-envisioned electronic music events. They’ve procured a variety of headlining artists such as DJ Holographic, Jackie House, Clark Price, Brian Rojas, while being backed by residents Fawks, Astro, and Jumpr. Their events create safe places for play, support for kink/BDSM subculture, and quality music from a wide variety of artists and performers. Most notable and perhaps impressive about the group and Fawks, is their kindness and devotion to one another, music, and the scene. Their events and presence simply feel welcome, authentic, and eye opening in the best way. With the waves they’ve been making, it is with deep gratitude we feature Fawks' work on Sound Coalitions. Keep an ear out for the darkness and power of Fawks’ set: smooth transitions working off each baseline's melody and a flow that would help any party get comfortably dark. This is an artist and group to keep a watchful eye on.

Miami is internationally recognized for it's electronic music and parties. From Miami Music Week, to Ultra Music Festival, Art Basel and more, Miami has set a standard to the quality and immensity of productions it holds in the United States scene.

However, Miami tends to focus on house, minimal, and EDM. Supporting Left field house and techno genres, not to mention ambient or drum and bass, can be challenging for promoters, clubs, and artists alike. Sound Coalitions would like to showcase Ray Nicholes, a Miami local techno talent, as an individual that is bringing a direct passion for techno to the Miami scene.

Christopher Foor met Ray at an Assimilate gig at Treehouse Nightclub in Miami in the autumn. Talking outside the club for hours after the show, Christopher and Ray discussed the difficulties, strengths, oddities, and potentials Miami presents as a city with deficits in certain genres of electronic music, but more importantly, what to do to switch this up. The passion/openness to ideas in terms of bonds between straight-ally and LGBTQ+ communities in electronic music that Ray presented were warm, grounded, and forward thinking. In addition to the ally ship and energetic demeanor of Ray, he's also a skilled artist with a multi-genre background influencing his musical ability.

Ray presented us with a two and a half hour mix, artfully utilizing four CDJ's the entire mix to blend the mid's-harmony, baseline, and highs from one chapter to the next.

Sound Coalitions is very grateful to feature Monix in their March mix for 2019. Monix is a techno artist specializing in live sets using modular hardware; his productions rely solely on analog equipment as well. With a history of international performances and productions used by artists such as Chris Leibing, Paco Osuna, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, and Tommy Four Seven, Monix has truly created a name for himself and his sound. Monix is also legally blind, giving insight to his drive, talent, and perseverance in the music industry. Simply, put, Monix' work speaks for itself. Hedda Stenberg is a full time DJ joining Sound Coalitions from Stockholm, Sweden. Hedda’s music comes to us simply from exploring SoundCloud and being curious about her profile. Once we took a listen to her mixes, our focus quickly noted the suave mixing, excellent track choice, and story telling quality that embodies her work on every set. We decided to reach out and learn more about the artist, and this is where Hedda’s kindness and tenacity to bring more women into the DJ scene became apparent. Over the last few years, Hedda has been part of PM Sessions, a Stockholm female collective that organized quality parties and promoted women into the DJ scene. She held a residency at club F12 in Stockholm where she assisted Aftermath Management with bookings and curating artists from across the city. Hedda is also a regular at the world renown Kvarteret where she has played alongside artists like DJ Tennis, Omar S., B. Traits, and DJ Seinfeld. Hedda is optimistic and engaged to make 2019 her best year yet and with the mix she sent us, we feel her flow and clarity in her style will take her there. Big thanks to Hedda- we know the scene in Stockholm and across Europe appreciates your quality work and mindset to bring more women into electronic music.

Starting off 2019, we take a spotlight on New York City's DJ PlayPlay. PlayPlay initially reached out to us for an opportunity to do a guest mix; our first listen to their productions and mixes ended with an immediate "Yes, absolutely feature this work". Mixes and productions featuring samples of known work intermixed with genre bending beats gave hint towards a deeper drive in PlayPlay's music. The real delicacy of an artist's drive like that of PlayPlay's comes from the diverse angles to which they approach understanding music: academia and teaching of the art of DJing, research in oppressed communities and dance music, activism and expansion of female and gender non-conforming artists, an expansive multi-genre understanding of music, and residency at Queen's Flux Factory where these factors are utilized to instill an informed approach to their mixes.

In addition to their current residency at Flux Factory, you can find PlayPlay's work on Knightwerk records, Worst Behavior, and Cybersonic LA.

We thank PlayPlay not only for their wonderful mix, but for their depth in approach to the art of music and culture itself. Daria Lourd (aka Bored Lord) is a Memphis born multidisciplinary and versatile artist. Daria formed roots in electronic music with production, notably her latest release on Knightwerk records. Her DJing skill was defined when she joined forces with the underground rave community in Oakland, California. With a recent relocation to Los Angeles, Daria has been churning out club ready and euphoric tracks on her personal Bandcamp as well as contributing remixes for other artists and labels.

For Daria's guest mix on Sound Coalitions, her intention for the mix was "... trying to channel a struggle between euphoria and anger through a rave ready medium. I want it to be something you can put on while get ready to go to the club or drive around while high with your friends. But also I want you to be able to put headphones on and release a deeper emotion. I don't think I know how to make art that isn't both reflective of how I feel and how I view the world. Times are dark and the tone of a lot of the mix can reflect that. Darkness is also something that makes light that much brighter too, and in that sense, the tone can make better room for more euphoric tracks. But let's be real, at the end of the day it's just club tracks. Fucking dance to it."

We are deeply appreciative of Daria's dedication to electronic music through her productions and mixing, her dedication to LGBTQ community via support and advocation, and her down to earth yet kind hearted nature which made featuring her work an easy choice.

Having recently moved from California to Florida, Christopher Foor decided to note some music in this transitionary chapter of life. His artist and song choice are directly related to memories and wishes of both CA and FL. You can find some of these artists included in the mix: Hugo Massien, Nicuri, Florian Busse, Robbie Akbal, Fabio Aurea, Sepehr, Toto Chiavetta, Pittsburgh Track Authority, and Arian 911.

Christopher Foor met Stacy after dancing to her set at downtown Los Angeles' Summer Tramp Pride Party. Her sound, influenced from 80's New Wave and 90's Club, created a party vibe that made leaving the dance floor all but impossible. After delivering a well-deserved compliment to Stacy, Christopher realized Stacy was not only a talented DJ, but an approachable, kind, and down-to-earth artist who remained truly engaged and inspired by electronic music.

Stacy is involved with various parties and collectives in the Los Angeles area including Critter Control Collective which throws the Bears in Space and CubScout parties, No Nonsense LA, and Miss Mgt. We are very thankful to include her work on Sound Coalitions and encourage you to keep an eye on this rising artist.
