San Diego based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer, Kristin Allen-Farmer, creates a musical vision with her artist project called Dream Tonic. She shares the full process of how she turned Christmas classic, "Silent Night", into a dark, dreamy soundscape. With the help of producer, Lucien Francis, they were able to incorporate different EDM downtempo drops to help paint a completely different picture from what even Dream Tonic imagined. Their debut single, "Save Me", is a cinematic, goth soundscape with storytelling lyrics and beautiful vocal melodies. We get to learn about the story behind the lyrics and what inspired this subject as Coyote Eyes was finding herself in a familiar and alarming mindset. We also discuss the haunting production that CJ-0 pieced together to paint the picture of the lyrics and convey the different moods displayed throughout the story.
