The Sisters Roundtable Discussion gets deep on an emotional level as they dive into some best practices when attempting to reconnect with ex-band members. This episode’s guest, Judy Cocuzza, drummer from Betty Blowtorch, has many insights into the topic and has provided stellar advice to other musicians over the years, including our very own host Drea. During their chat they uncover an array of topics such as Judy’s involvement with teaching drums to children with and without disabilities as well as how she found the silver lining with COVID’s halt to a constant tour schedule. This episode's guests have a lot of experience in this arena, Terry Smith and Laura Rose from Riot Squad Media join the conversation to chat about their insights on the topic. As previous hosts of Punksylvania, they authentically and transparently dig into how they crossed over into their new platform. They also talk about how their DIY female empowered collective / media firm provides a lot of PR, promotion, and support to punk musicians globally through their podcast as well as other Riot Squad branded outlets. Their fresh and polished new format is not only celebrated, but needed in a time where so many currently feel musically disconnected. There are talks of Camp Punksylvania, ghosts, females lifting each other up, how to collaborate in a long distance working relationship, Canada's take on Trump, plus what type of sandwiches, and poutine they would be. This episode covers the "darker side of punk rock." In an attempt to rally for others who have been in similar situations, the Sisters relive personal stories where they experienced unwanted and inappropriate sexual advancements at shows. This provides a segue for our guest Kimberly Austin. Kim is a stage and production manager at the Yucca-North, previously known as the Greenroom, in Flagstaff, Arizona. She has worked with the likes of Bad Cop/ Bad Cop, TSOL, Agent Orange, Less Than Jake, Menzingers, Casualties, Murphy's Law, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Guttermouth, Phobia, CJ Ramone, Dead Boys, and Venomous Pinks to name a few. Her professionalism and kindness when delivering support to musicians is not only known locally, but throughout the United States. After a shift of providing production for a concert, Kim was a victim of sexual assault by a globally well known musician. Even with photos of aftermath bruises and an eye witness, she feared the abuser, who is referred to in the episode by a pseudonym name Dale Nixon, would not be held accountable due to his legendary musical status. After a year of suffering in silence, she has made the brave decision to tell her story in hopes to bring more awareness to others who are secretly dealing with sexual abuse and trauma.

She emphasizes  the importance of remaining adaptable to self growth while staying true to your dreams. There is talks of skincare, music, aliens, Angela’s major Cherry fangirl moment at the first It’s Not Dead fest, and how the term, “being born in the wrong era” is a severely misguided notion. The Sound Sisters are all about supporting music venues, and in honor of this episode's special guest they kick things off discussing their most memorable moments at Phoenix's infamous staple The Mason Jar, now known as The Rebel Lounge. Later, they brought in Arizona veteran concert promoter  Stephen Chilton (owner of Psyko Steve Presents and The Rebel Lounge) to discuss his political efforts with NIVA: National Independent Venue Association. As a founder and one of the Vice Presidents, Steve fights alongside the rest of the board to help save independent  music venues through political activism. NIVA's focus is securing financial support to preserve the national ecosystem of independent venues and promoters. He also chats with the Sisters about various promoter war stories, including how a well-known national band's dumbassery almost caused a full on riot.
