Well, this was one "hot off the presses" as they say. It's time for a Bing Crosby Philco Radio TIme show we haven't played you before. From March 24, 1948 listen as Bing welcomes special Cowboy star, Wild Bill Elliott & the ever charming Peggy Lee.

I've seen every Wild Bill Elliott western ever made and I became a fan after the first one. I remember when I first heard this Bing show years ago I had never even heard of or saw a Bill Elliott western. Boy was I missing out on one of the greats. But no more, thanks to DVDs I caught up on all the great Wild Bill's I had never seen. Too bad TV doesn't run them much nowadays, seek them out if you've never seen any. You won't be sorry. For now, here's Bing & Bill & Peggy in a very entertaining show.

It's time once again for a visit with that master story teller, Jean Shepherd and a special holiday edition from the Library of Sound Volume 93 for Easter.  From April 13, 1968 it's a classic episode of Inside Jean Shepherd.

The Shadow has returned to the Library of Sound (LOS) Volume 298. And just in time as today the Shadow faces "The Black Buddha" as it was originally heard September 4, 1938. Orson Welles, the first of the men to play the Shadow is featured in today's show. Danger lurks and so does Your Humble Host as he hides behind the curtains. Well, I just don't want to spoil the Shadow's fun, that's all.

Your Humble Host is here with Volume 163 of Sounds Like Radio! Today we find the Great Gildersleeve trying to help Marjorie & Bronco get a $2000 loan to finish construction on their house. Where to go? Ahh, how about Bullard, he's loaded BUT wait a minute Bullard and Gildy can't stand each other. Now that's what I call a flaw in the slaw with this plan.

But somehow or another Your Humble Host and his buddies here will come up with a solution. Why to help cogitate on this we have Rosemary Clooney (as seen in our picture with this show displaying all her goodies she has to offer to get Bullard to come to Gildy's house) also with us are Burl Ives, Dinah Washington, Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Ink Spots and Jimmy Durante. With this brain trust we just gotta come up with an idea for Marjorie.

Welcome to a special Encore presentation from our Bing Crosby wing of our Vast Library of Sound Volume 12. It was summertime when we first played this show, a short 15 minute Bing show from June 22, 1956. There’s something about these scaled down short & simple Bing shows I really like. They are extremely pleasant and I think you’re going to like them.

The Whisperer has come to the Library of Sound (LOS) Volume 297. It's his first appearance here and he stops to have "Tea Time With Teenagers" the name of today's episode originally heard July 8, 1951. The Whisperer fights crime from within and leads a double life. Listen for William Conrad (Cannon on TV and radio's Matt Dillon) as he has a big part in today's show.

Your Humble Host is back in his own Jean Shepherd Vault picking out another Shep tape I recorded myself on March 18, 1975 for the Library of Sound (LOS) Volume 296. Today Shep has got a lot on his mind talking of the Transmitter to Life relation, the Cosmic Joke, battery tasting, geography books Jean's gone wild with ideas here. You try to sum it up, I can't. Let's just listen and enjoy the trip.

It's time for that guy we love, Jack Benny. It's been too long since we checked in with Jack Benny on the Library of Sound till now Volume 295. Today Your Humble Host asks the question, what happens after the Jack Benny Show? Well, we're going to find out in this funny February 9, 1947 episode of Jack Benny!

Your Humble Host is proud to present one of my favorite good guys, Simon Templar, better known as The Saint. Vincent Price played the Saint on radio and did it quite well. The Saint on TV was Roger Moore but before Moore there was Vincent Price. The Saint stories were always interesting whether from the books, TV or radio. Today the Saint faces a "High Fence" from June 20, 1945.

It's that time of year again as Sounds Like Radio celebrates the wearin' of the green with a very special vintage Sounds Like Radio show Your Humble Host recorded in March 2000.  From deep within the Sounds Like Radio Vault comes this classic St. Patty's Day show with Bing Crosby Irish music and even a Crazy Gugenheim Irish ditty along of course with a St. Patty's Day Great Gildersleeve episode in between the Irish tunes.
