I have to give some love to this guy. I’ve never seen someone so disciplined in chasing his goals.
We were never like super close but always got along real well behind the scenes but it was one trip to an out of town show where we started opening up and talking that made me realize how similar we were.
Nevertheless, last year, we had a match for the pcw championship. This was my chance to sort is step up to another level. I thought we did well but Jackie actually got injured in the match and his leg broke.
I felt terrible and did my best to take care of him after the show. I had the chance to beat myself up so much but throughout the following months as he was missing ring time, he was always so positive and looking on the bright side of things.
It woke me up to my personal situation. I realized that I was surrounded around so much negativity and people who were negative that it created this mindset for me. I wanted to be more like Jackie in the sense of not dwelling on things and really turning my thought process on it’s head.
It was like a light bulb went off. I immediately started giving myself bigger goals and not worrying and completely ignoring any and all negativity that surrounded me everywhere. It just didn’t matter. There were much bigger things going on to sweat the small stuff. It was all just noise distracting me and I started becoming much more focused on a vision for my future and how to obtain it.
So everything you’re hearing and seeing is all because of Jackie Lee and his positive outlook on his life that woke me up and enlightened me. You see it in episode 1 of Unhack’d. Me thanking him was a very real moment for me. He changed a lot for me. And for that, Jackie, I’m gonna make you listen to this. Thank you!

You’re allowed to screw up. I think parents sometimes strive for their Kids to be perfect. They don’t want to feel like they’ve failed them. I say screw that. I think it’s very important to fail. That’s the best way to learn. Once you know how to do it wrong, you’ll learn to not do that thing again and eventually you’ll find the right way. By creating fear around failure, all that results from that fear is anxiety and self doubt and a complex about the individual rather than the effort. It cripples peoples growth in the future and a very destructive bad habit.
Be yourself. I tried way too hard to fit in or follow someone else’s lead on how to live. I went to university when I wasn’t ready, I bullied kids to try and get respect and i didn’t speak up out of fear of sounding stupid. I was chasing imaginary wins. I wasn’t going to graduate university because I wasn’t interested, I wasn’t going to get respect from the cool kids because we weren’t similar at all, and I’m not going to sound stupid. Just some people are going to die always trying to be right. And hey, I’m not always going to be right either. I can only have opinions and knowledge based on my experiences.
Time is the biggest asset in life. It’s not money or knowledge or cool stuff. It’s time. So many people take this for granted by working jobs they hate, worrying about things that don’t matter, talking about people to try and make themselves happier, chasing things that’ll never come because of selfish intentions or being under the influence to forget and wallow in pity rather than take action and control of their situation. We have so many hours in a day. 8 hours of work sounds like a lot. But there’s still 16 more in a day for your goals, your family and friends, and sleep. Do not waste your time. You can’t slow down time, but you can slow down your progress.
Never underestimate yourself. You have skills and qualities and abilities. Once you learn how to apply them in productive matters, then you’re off to the races. I taught myself web and graphic design in middle school. That opened the door to wrestling. I learned compassion through my relationships and the restaurant industry and it’s made me a much better person. I taught myself video editing for my friends and I’s videos. And I can apply all of these qualities today to come to you and deliver my message. Be aware of your skills and use them every day.
