We continue new series on the biblical book of Romans, starting we the END of the book, learning more about its audience and the historical context. Steve will be speaking from Romans 12 and 13 about the faith and family that builds the fabric of our relationships in the church and how that relates to our witness to the world around us.

Happy Mother's Day! This is week two of our new series on the biblical book of Romans, starting with the END of the book, learning more about its audience and the historical context. We start to dig in to the two groups addressed by the letter, and how cultural differences may have made unity difficult. Ultimately we discover that what God wants is the same as what MOM wants, which is everyone around the table together. You don't all have to agree, but you have to show up to dinner. And no matter what, we're family.

This week we are beginning a series on the biblical book of Romans by starting at the END of the book, learning more about its audience and the historical context of the book. Learning more about these early Christians helps us get more in our time out of Paul’s message. We can related to them in many ways.

The physical reality of Jesus appearing to his followers changed everything and upset all expectations. Grief was replaced by hope, and fear by boldness and faith. But what now? Living in a post-resurrection reality, what does this mean for us, and for our world? We’ll talk about the relationship between resurrection and being empowered by a Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. Learn what it means to be a modern-day “witness” to the resurrected Jesus.

This Sunday we hear personal stories of the power of the resurrection in our daily lives. Christ's love is the only firm foundation in this world.

In light of Jesus’ resurrection we want to make an impact for him with those around us. In this sermon Tim shares some practical help for how to love our neighbor by listening to them and learning from them. This skill helps make the church more healthy, strengthening our relationships, and it makes our outreach to others more effective by loving people the way Jesus did.

This is the first time in a long time that a large part of the South Bay Church will be able to get together IN PERSON! And how appropriate that it is on Resurrection Sunday that we can gather to celebrate our risen Lord and the power of renewal in our lives. Steve will be preaching on the topic “Cancelled.” They tried to cancel Jesus. But the grave couldn't hold him! The resurrection is the center of everything we believe as Christians. It gives us hope and inspiration in these crazy times.

It’s Palm Sunday! We join God’s creation in worshipping him today, remembering his presence in our lives. In looking at the Palm Sunday story from scripture, our guest speaker Rhett Butler exhorts us to #1 worship the king, and #2 clean house.

Temptation, sorrow, intense challenges… Our guest speaker Guy Hammond gives us perspective and inspiration for persevering through such times with scriptural insights and stories from his own life. Learn to have faith refined in crisis. We can use hard times as a catalyst for greatness and eternal meaning, honoring God with the brokenness of our lives.

There is much to divide us from others, and much to make us feel alone. But what if God’s design for the church is for us to be able to face spiritual challenges in community, instead of by ourselves? There are examples in the early church of profound issues that threatened to split the church and yet our brothers and sisters came together in unity to overcome these obstacles.
