Romans 5:1-17

God doesn't want you to survive 2015, he wants you to thrive in 2015. But, that thriving doesn't happen as we try harder, it happens as we rest in the reality of all that Jesus had accomplished on our behalf. Faith gives us a place to stand before it gives us a job to do. So before you set out to strive into the new year, stand in the goodness of the gospel.

Matthew 8:1-4 It is often difficult to interact with God because of our own weakness, sin, or failures. We feel as though God must be, at the least, mildly upset with us. This story in the book of Matthew demonstrates a different kind of God. Jesus reaches into the dirtiest places to show us his love. Jesus ignored social faux pas's and more in order to reach this man. He continues to do that today. Listen to see what Jesus is like and the beautiful news that is for you.

Luke 1:46-55 – Mary’s song; The Magnificat. Some have gone so far as to say this little song recorded by Luke is one of the most revolutionary documents in the history of the world! At first glance it might not seem that significant, but let us let Mary sing a little bit. When you listen to her words, you start to hear a revolution. See, Mary wasn’t just carrying a baby, she was carrying a hope. And, the same hope that Mary had as she carried the KING is the same hope you and I have as we carry the KINGDOM!

Matthew 2:1-12 – We know how to receive presents, we know how to receive a president, but do we know how to receive a King? The reality is that all of us have anointed a king over our lives. In this message we we’ll learn from the Magi how we anoint a king and specifically how to anoint Jesus King over our lives!

Luke 2:1-7

Joy to the world, the Lord is come; let earth receive her king! We made the point last week that the hope of Christmas is far more about a King coming to reign than it is about a baby being born. Indeed, Jesus has come and Jesus does reign… today… for real! Because Jesus reigns today, he has a Kingdom that he reigns over. There is a lot of misunderstanding about his Kingdom. We address that in this message and try to paint a picture of how the King reigns today. See, Christmas is God’s decisive declaration that the Kingdom of Heaven is invading the empires of the earth!

The celebration of Jesus’ birth has evolved into a lot of things: a time for families to get together, exchanging of presents, consuming fruitcake, drinking egg nog, and singing songs about figgy pudding. Along with all of these traditions, on Christmas we celebrate that Jesus was born in order that he would become KING… and he is… and he reigns… right now! The fact that Jesus is king means that we can live under his love and peace, it means that we can have hope, and it means that a new way of living is completely possible!

Acts 16:6-40: The word ‘worship’ conjure up all sorts of images in our mind. When we think of worship we think of: singing, church, worship bands or choirs, etc. When some people hear the word ‘worship’ they immediately think ‘boring.’ In this message we explore one of the purposes for worship in the life of a believer – it is a weapon! Worship is a weapon that changes our world and our hearts.

Acts 15:36-16:5 – Friends are friends forever, if the Lord’s the Lord of them… well, sometimes! In this passage of scripture we explore Paul and Barnabas’ epic breakup and the way God continues to use them both in the building of His Kingdom.

Acts 15:1-35 – In one of the most significant chapters in the entire Bible, the Jerusalem Council affirms that salvation comes by faith alone in Christ alone. They declare unequivocally that Jesus is sufficient! Listen as we explore the ways as current followers of Jesus we can embrace this same affirmation and live in the way of the Risen Christ.

Acts 13 & 14 – We all live in a story; we have a way that we view the world (a world view) and a way that we think about God. The people the Apostle Paul spoke to people lived in a story too. It’s fascinating to see that way that Paul steps into their story, dissects it, and leads them to Jesus. Not all paths lead to God, but God meets people on all paths and leads them to Jesus!
