We simply couldn't keep Quiet about Metal Gear Solid V, but we made sure to avoid any and all spoiler talk. Watch as Blue Map and I talk circles around what may be the biggest game release this year, while Fencingsax reminds us that Mad Max is totally good too, you guys. Also, I give Square Enix some cheers (FFXV at PAX) and jeers (Augmented Pre-Orders) while also swooning about Ryu's beautiful beard.
Big-time Metal Gear fan Speed Racer joins Renzo, LockedOnTarget, Blue Map and myself in a conversation that spans the near-entirety of the Metal Gear franchise. With one week left to go for Ground Zeroes, we collect our favorite moments, boss fights, Codec conversations and all-around wackiest recollections with Kojima's franchise, and what there is left to look forward to with The Phantom Pain and beyond.
Note: there are no spoilers for The Phantom Pain in this episode. Rest assured that we've hunkered down in our online bunkers and avoided all of the leaky information coming forth.
LockedOnTarget has joined us after several episodes MIA, and he's got a whole bunch of games to share opinions about (which also gives me an oportunity to talk about my latest addiction in the form of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker). Blue Map also talks fighting tactics with Rising Thunder, Fencingsax sits this one out and TDOT...is really, really tired. Also breaking news in the middle of the podcast in order to remind us all how much Konami sucks and is awful. On the upside, now we've got two big budget remakes to look forward to.
It's the landmark 50th episode of the South Figaro Podcast! We began this podcast talking about Final Fantasy XV, it's only fair we celebrate the anniversary of South Figaro by talking about Final Fantasy XV....too bad it's not under more favorable circumstances. Vagrant Winds sighs heavily along with me over the unbelievably poor showing of FFXV at this year's Gamescom, while also pondering just how much of this is the fault of director Hajime Tabata and what needs to be done in order to turn things around in the game's troubled marketing (as if its development woes weren't bad enough).
For our tenth Anime episode, Sticks decides to take up hosting duties as he offers his thoughts on the Madoka Magica series (spoilers for the whole dang thing!), which I happily add to the conversation for the third time yet in this podcast. My Love Story and Blood Blockade Battlefront also join in the discussion. Not even Konami's latest crap on my favorite games can bring down the optimism in this episode!

There's been a healthy surge of JRPG news this week, but before we get in on that we discuss the SGDQ marathon, the insider dirt on Kojima's departure, the early success of Rising Thunder's alpha, and the widespread reaction over Pixels. Who needs a Kojima-sized budget when we make do with the limited tools available to improve our podcast? Join us and watch out for the phallic-shaped bullets!
Here Comes A New Challenger! Shadowfire joins us for a little bit to talk Final Fantasy Record Keeper before fatherly duties prematurely pull him away. We cover the rest of the podcast with EVO 2015, SGDQ 2015, our thoughts on the Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad trailers, the resurgance of 90's cartoons (both in leaked VHS and kickstarter forms) and more. That Street Fighter V Beta is still busted, so give this episode a listen while you continue starting at the main menu.
Sticks is back to give his thoughts on the closing episodes of JoJo and Fate/Stay Night while also doing a ludicriously easy job selling me on Blood Blockade Battlefront. I struggle a bit more to convicne him on giving Punch-Line a shot, while also sharing my purist-fueled opinions on the new live action adaptation of Death Note. It may be an anime-centric recording, but we also take time to delve into videogames, including his thoughts on E3 as well as which of the Tales Of games are worth diving into (and which should be ignored).
In this week's four-man discussion, we praise the gorgeous visuals of Ori and the Blind Forest and the storytelling of Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward while also ranting about spoileriffic movie trailers and emotionally manipulative openings. Also Frank Miller, because Comic Con is a thing happening and that guy really needs to be put in a cage.
While most of the gang goes off to do dumb things like keeping jobs and visiting family, Fencingsax and VagrantWinds join me for a chill episode where any topic is welcome....until someone brings up Final Fantasy VII. Then it becomes just that for a while. Also some Digimon, because why not?
